What Panther fans are saying (Redskins prediction thread)

I hate the Redskins.  I have hated them my entire football life, from my youth in upstate NY through high school in North Carolina,  I laughed at them falling apart during my young adulthood, and even now in my current oldness I delight in their owner's incompetence and how crappy they are as a franchise in general.  I've carried a deep resentment of those bastards for a long time, one born in the Billy Kilmer days and stoked into a deep flame by Heismann and Riggins.  I can't stand their stupid uniforms, their colors, and most of all, their fans--Charlotte was full of them before the Panthers came to town, and there are still a bunch left.  So yeah, I'm looking forward to this Sunday a lot.

I don't want to get into all the analysis of why we're going to kick their asses, I just want to say that I truly believe this is a stronger, more talented, and more disciplined team.  We've got better coaching, a MUCH better defense, and an offense that's capable of exerting it's will when it's necessary.  The Skins are not going to stop us on the ground, and we're scoring on our first three possessions to put the game just out of reach early.  I think that like the Packers, they get some feel-good points late, but the game won't be in doubt by midway through the second quarter.

I'm calling it Panthers 27, Redskins 17.

Seems like most Skin fans are picking the upset. Which I guess is a normal thought about your team.

I do think it will be a tough game.  End of the day it is hard to argue that Carolina isn't better team and therefore I expect them to pull away late.

I fear the trap letdown--the fact that there are still old Redskin fans here because that was the only team on TV for 20 years--but I do not fear the Redskins.  Our D is good and our offense is remarkably efficient.   I expect the offense to have its best game of the year.

I'm expecting a game very similar to the New Orleans game earlier this year. Cousins will sink and sink his way up the field and they'll score more than expected which will irritate the kids out of all of us. But, I think we'll run all over them all day on offense, and just eat up too much clock for them to do enough to over take us.

Gonna be a tough game, but Good Guys win in the end

Again we are playing a team riding high because they just beat the Saints and their legendarily horrible defense.  Newsflash - everyone's offense looks great against the Saints, and everyone's offense looks awful against the Panthers.  Game stays close through the first half, going into halftime tied 14-14.  Panthers come out in the 2nd half and show everyone why they are undefeated.

Actually the Redskins used to be pretty awesome back in the John Riggins/Hog days. They would physically kick your ass.

Now, their ownership is a joke, much like the Cowboys and it permeates the entire organization. Funny we play these 2 train wrecks back to back.

Anyway Panthers 34, the DC Racial Slurs, 20.

    • These are the three deep throw attempts that Will Levis made in week 12. His first one is a beauty; Levis and Westbrook-Ikhine gets the safety to bite on a deep dig only to go over the top for the score. His second throw is another beauty: a crosser to Calvin Ridley reminiscent of Bryce to XL (though Ridley has noticeably more separation on his route). His third and final deep shot was an incompletion from his own endzone on 3rd & 14 with pressure coming down on him (to me, this seems like a solid throw).   Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-02.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-01.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro.mp4 Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-01.mp4 Levis took half of the deep shots that Young did. The differences are: Ridley had much better separation than XL, which is why his deep crosser turned into a 63yd play since he was able to scamper for another 15+ after the catch. Westbrook-Ikhine holds on to his TD pass. Bryce had to throw one away to preserve time for a field goal. Bryce had two more throws that were incomplete due to the WR Are we really holding the three WR errors and clock management decision against Bryce in order to say that Will was better throwing deep in week 12? That's not passing the eye test nor is it confirmed by the data.
    • If you go on the PUP list before the season starts, you are gone for the year. If you start the year on the PUP list then you can get off of it. Kind of semantics, but we are putting him on the PUP list now which is before week 1, that’s why people who come off of it aren’t really on the PUP list until week 1, hence you usually hear right before the season that they are “starting the year” on the PUP list. I think PUP list and IR may basically be the serve the same purpose now because you also sometimes hear that if a player is added to the IR before week 1 that they aren’t eligible to come off the IR list for the entire year. Now, everyone added to IR (post week 1) can come off after 4 (or more) games so the PUP list is meaningless since it’s 6 games and starts at week 1. Anyone added to PUP or IR in the preseason is gone for the year.
    • I saw Brooks maybe a few weeks ago, he was walking pretty normally. of course he wasnt running, jumping and cutting.
