The only 2 stats that really matter

#3 scoring offense

#5 scoring defense

potential to be better based on what NE does tonight..

yards, completion percentage, etc....meh.  Scoring and not allowing others to score is all that matters.

question soon should be asked....is this the best team we have had?  We have been better in different aspects (more explosive WR, better RB, etc)....but I'm starting to think this legimately believe this is the best team we have ever fielded. Which is crazy considering we lost Kelvin and our best DE has been on the shelf.

Honorable mention for the 10-0 stat.

Better as in, every single guy on this team has bought in to what the GM/Coaches are building.  That can have a lot more impact, than a few superstars.  Just like Charles Davis said in the 4th quarter, we had our whole 2nd team in, and they were still swarming to the ball and wreaking havoc.

There's a "togetherness" unlike I've ever seen with these guys.  It's pretty amazing.

IMO, this is the kind of team you get when you have an elite level QB under center. We all know Cam's strengths and weaknesses, but he has shown this year, that he is on par with the top-flight signal callers.

The Brady-led Super Bowl teams, the Seahawk SB teams, etc. have all had an amazing leader calling the shots, and he makes those around him better. Cam may have lost KB, and Olsen is his top weapon, but the common denominator in SB champs, is the QB.  As long as Cam keeps doing his thing, the results will continue to follow.

To your question, I think this is the most balanced team that we have had. The last time we went to the SB, we had more explosive weapons, and an equally as stout defense, so it's hard to say which team is better. I would say the '15 squad is on par or pretty damn close to that team.  There is just an entirely different style on both sides of the ball vs. the '03 team.

If I remember correctly, Arizona ranks higher than us in points scored and points defensed.

After their victory over Cincinatti, I see them as the biggest threat to our Superbowl run in the NFC.

We will see them in the playoffs, and they remember what we did to them last year.

AZ has the 2nd scoring offense

AZ has the 13th ranked scoring D.  But you aren't talking a big difference there either way in reality.

I agree they are the biggest threat

I can't stop thinking about what an amazing coaching staff we have.  These guys are COACHED up!  No question this is the best team we've had, best coaching we've had, best front office.  It's going to be a long ride from what I can see.

Yeah IMO, the best case scenario for us is to face the Vikings in the NFCCG. the only bad blood will be from our futility loss last year. If we play AZ or GB, look for a tough game. My hope is that the NFC East champion gets past WC1in round 1 and Minnesota wins the North and lasts until the NFCCG.

Side note... I can't wait to play with ESPN's playoff machine this week. The past two seasons, that thing has been alot of fun to tinker with. Much like draft simulators in the spring. :)

I still remember what they did to us in 2008....remember Arizona. Revenge tour is still in full effect.

    • Well yeah. Last time vs NO if we had had good QB play and half ass pass pro it is a different game. And that is the story more often, in point of fact, than the two or three hero games everyone wants to use to define the player.  That box was so stacked against the run it was basically impossible to break through it, you had to go over and around. It is what we knew was gonna be employed by teams and we were unable to stop them from doing it.    I am real interested to see the first 3rd and 8 and see how NO defenses it in the back end. Because they can look at that Rams tape and learn, but will they have enough fear/respect that it can happen to them or will we need to prove it again before they do?   Most people don’t learn from others’ mistakes and  need to make their own.
    • I like that Tillis is so down to earth  we will see where it goes ill say something controversial on a day that, along with next week, determines the panthers 2025  and 2026 fate  he referenced ‘money ball’, statistics and self scouting multiple times. it really makes me feel that Bryce will be back regardless of what happens over the next 4 games as that is the smart move for financial stability but by no means does that guarantee Bryce anything past that.  They will improve year over year regardless of position or who is affected       however, they will do the appropriate diligence and not cut off their nose to spite their face….it won’t be an emotional decision…unlike us Huddlers….for example, if Young’s happy ass shits the bed today, I’ll be less than pleased ..particularly having seen what they will do and having a bye week.  Brandon Staley is a good defensive coordinator and former HC.  His defense is aging but he can still develop a good game plan
    • Something like 24 now. The first 6 minutes were fun, after that, oh man. It was cool tho, a near capacity, with both teams well supported.
