Ron Rivera has, for the past two Carolina Panthers victories and possibly more, told his team in the locker room following the wins to “keep your personality.”

Yes, the one-game-at-a-time mantra has and will always be Rivera’s favorite refrain, but this one is just as important.

What Rivera is telling his players: keep dancing during warmups at practice during the week, keep playing music in the locker room, keep mouthing the lyrics to an Adele hit song for an Instagram video, keep celebrating touchdowns and interceptions and never lose yourself.

“There’s a great saying: Respect your opponent but believe in yourself,” Rivera said Friday after Carolina’s 33-14 dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. “If you start worrying too much about that side of things and doing things completely the right way, I think you lose that little edge. And I think that’s something that’s been good for us is keeping that edge.”

Things like this make he glad we still havr ol' Riverboat coaching the Panthers.

I remember being ready to run Ron out of town after the bad start to the 2013 season. I always thought he was an awesome person, but wasn't sure about his game management decisions and getting the team prepared to play. 

Then Riverboat was born and Rivera has really turned out to be an awesome coach. I'm so glad that our front office had more patience then the average fan.

I'm happy for Ron and glad he proved me wrong.

The two hardest things to get in the NFL.

1. A LEGIT franchise QB (check)

2. A great head coach (check)

I have NEVER seen a coach grow as much as Rivera. Usually coaches are stubborn and stick to their guns no matter what. We are lucky to have him and THANK GOD we let him grow instead of being like these other loser franchises and giving up on him after a few years.

Yes! So many of us wanted him gone, including me.

And though JR let Ronnie Dangle in the wind after the 2012 season, before bringing him back. It was the best decision (or non decision) for the Franchise from that point on, along with the pick up of Dave Gettleman, JR made.

Yes, JR's patience, actually worked in his favor this time with Rivera!

      Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?

      Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
