Expect 60 Point Games Next Year

I'm not one to start thinking about what's going to happen next year when we are on a superbowl run right now.  However, it's hard not to get excited about the possibilities once we get KB back in the lineup.

I'm looking at Ted Ginn blazing down the field these past few games and I'm thinking to myself what could have been if we had KB's titan form dominating and catching touchdowns to go along with it all?  Just having those two alone would give us 30 points, but also having Olsen, a year of development with Funchess, and the offensive machine that is Cam Newton who could score 20+ with his legs.  There are more guys I haven't mentioned, along with the draft class we will bring in.  It's unfair to the rest of the league to have to guard against all of that.

This past Saturday ESPN showed the documentary of the Bills four straight superbowl losses.  I believe Carolina has the chance to win four straight, and more assuming we keep everyone together.  I would be willing to give Shula HC money just to stay as our OC.

If KB were playing this year he would have insane madden numbers. Like 1500 yards and 15 tds.

i do think it was somewhat beneficial for Cam because he has made that leap we were all talking about for the past couple of years and I think not force feeding benji helped to spread the ball around more. It's gonna be interesting to see what happens when KB gets back and another year for Funch. Really exciting.

For christs sake Ted ginn has 8 tds with 3 more games to play. He could potentially have a 10 touchdown season and 800-900 yards. Cam is on fuging fire.

I doubt we'd be scoring more points. We have had the chance to drop multiple 50 burgers this year, but once we get a big lead, the coaching staff usually decides to be conservative and just let the clock run down.

The only way i ever see us scoring 50-60 points in a game, is if the defense allows 40+

I think this discussion was brought up, and d-dave made a great point.

This offense matured and molded into something else because of KB going down. I don't think this offense would be this developed if KB didn't have his injury. Cam grew more as a passer and distributed the ball more equally. He kind of had to. Olsen is still here but his other safety valve is gone. I'm kind of glad on one part that they are developing into a more complete potent offense. Sad that KB missed this though.

I don't think we've been conservative this year as in previous years.  There's been a healthy killer instinct this season, except for the couple of times where we did go conservative before the half.  My thinking for next year is, defenses will have to guard KB, Olsen, and Funchess assuming he starts.  If we have those guys on the field with Ginn, how will defenses be able to cover Ginn's deep speed for quick strike touchdowns?

60 points?  CMON MAN

I don't see how we can be much better.  I mean, KB is good but I remember a lot of ball drops by him as well.  I can see the offense getting more efficient as far as completion percentages.  I can see KB having a huge year as far as numbers.  But as far as 60 points?  Nah, I mean with KB and Olsen having 1000 yard season last year, we were getting around 28 ppg.   This year with Ted Ginn stretching the field and Cam doing Cam things we are getting 31.6 ppg.   With KB I could see maybe jumping to 34 ppg.   But past that is just not reasonable for a team that runs as much as we do.

Yeah we won't average 60 points, but everyone is only getting better.  We have yet to see the best of Cam and he is already breaking records left and right.  I'm saying defenses will be absolutely terrified with what we have, and again we still have a draft class to add.

Sorry....but this is a stupid thread.

No way that we start scoring 60 points a game next year....step AWAY from the Madden game.

Yeah we definitely won't average 60 points.  Interestingly enough Cam is playing Madden every time he steps on the field.

No one scores 60 in the NFL if for no other reason that these are professional defenses and most coaches also play more conservative once they get a big lead. This isn't college with a strength of victory stat. All that matters is winning the game. No reason to make an extra statement once the win is sealed. We could have scored 50-60 yesterday but didn't because we chose not to. ,

This^^^

Also, adding KB to the mix next season won't change how we approach the game.  We will likely score about the same....just different guys scoring.

    • He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful
    • Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here
    • AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
