The funny thing is, that the Panthers are in a no win situation in regards to if they win the game. They don't get any more respect by beating the Giants. If the Panthers win it will just be another week of the media saying who have the Panthers faced.

fuging exactly man

Everyone I've  seen on Inside the NFL,  and what i saw a little bit ago on NFLN, were unanimous for the Panthers.

Yet every week we have these same threads because one or two people picked the other team and thus it is some type of huge disrespect of epic proportions.  The Panthers are getting more positive press than they ever have in their entire history including the Super Bowl year.

also there is a double standard with the south and east . when the south was in the same situation as the east is right now we couldn't go a day without them hating on our division but now that the tables are turned they keep sucking off the nfceast

What else would the media do when the NFC East teams are large market teams. The media doesn't exist without viewers so you don't piss off millions of folks when you can coddle them and piss off small market teams like the Panthers.

Here's a conversation I had last night with a Giants fan at a restaurant in NY.

G Fan: you here for the Giants game?

me: Nope. I'm here for the Panthers game.

GF: Ahhh....well they're going to lose.

Me: Oh? Are they?

GF: yeah....talk radio has been breaking it down all week and we are "Giant killers".

Me: ......................

Panther fans are use to the underdog role. Whether the majority will admit it or not, they prefer the underdog role. It's really what we've been use to for the most of the team's existence.

That being said, a lot of talking heads love the Panthers, and how were obtaining our success, as it flies in the face of most teams management.

Idiotic. If the Panthers win they are 14-0 who gives a poo about what media is saying, no win situation my ass with a win they are a mere 2 games from perfection. No win situation lol yawn

If you arent a big market team, these guys have to get clicks and attention somehow. And they love an upset story so of course they'll go on about how the Giants could beat us, especially given their history with the Patriots, they love narratives like that. Thankfully our team doesn't and thats all that matters

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
