Cam was Pissed

I knew that Cam was going to solidify his case for league MVP.  After today, I do not see any reason that he will not be voted in.  I do not think there is anything in football that beats when your QB takes the field for the last time with the game on the line.  Cam has put some masterful last minute drives together this season.  Straight up CLUTCH!!!!!

He's at the point in his career now where you expect him to be clutch. Even with Jake at his peak nobody expected him to win every time. Cam is consistently doing it as good as Peyton or Brady ever did.

I loved Jake because he always gave us a chance. Cam gives us more than just a chance. Good point.

It might sound strange but I really haven't been nervous all year. I have always felt like we would come through. Even in Seattle we were down double digits and I just felt like it was coming. If you asked me what our record would be in August, I probably would have said 10 or 11 wins. But in every single game I've felt supreme confidence just based off what I was seeing.

I grew up as a Miami fan and remember Dan Marino winning dozens of games just like this one.  I always felt like he would pull it out and he usually did, although it was always with his arm instead of ever being with his legs.  Now, thirty years later, I'm finally pulling for another team with another QB that I have the same confidence will prevail.

As pointed out by many TV and Radio types recently,  Cam isn't afraid to be himself.  However,  he really never let's on that another player is getting under his skin.

After Beckham scored to tie the game,  they showed Cam on the sideline,  he nodded confidently to one of his teammates and he was pissed.  You could see it.  I've never seen him with that look before.

I told my brother,  'did you see that look,  Cam is pissed and we are winning this game'.  Remember how Cam used to get criticized for how he reacted to losses?  He didn't change how he feels about losing,  he just changed how he deals with it.  Instead of showing his displeasure outwardly,  he just decided to continue improving his game until his team stopped losing. And for the last 18 regular season games,  they haven't.

For this reason (among others),  I believe we will go undefeated and win the Super Bowl.

Rewatch the last Saints game. That's the same look he gave when we were down 14-0 and he broke off for a huge run on 3rd down.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
