As the Panthers prepare for their final game of the regular season, Bucs fans would love to see the Panthers be knocked out of the first seed position.

I respect this type of talk from fans. This is what fans should be doing. The spoiler role is the only thing that is left, embrace it. I know I did when the Panthers were in a similar spot. Good on ya, Bucs fans.

The Bucs won't play their backups. Lovie Smith and Ron Rivera aren't exactly the friendliest pair in the league. Smith would love nothing more than to decrease the chances of a Ron Rivera superbowl by making the Panthers travel for the NFC championship game.

I am not so sure their first defeat was a mental blow as much as it is a wakeup call to refocus and work harder. The best teams in NFL history have had the same thing happen, even Ron Rivera's Superbowl Chicago Bears. 

The rest of the Bucs talk is around firing Lovie Smith, draft position and prospects, and 2016 expectations. Their offseason has officially begun. 

That said, all Panthers fans should take a moment and realize the Panthers still have at minimum 2 games left in their season, but hopefully will have a  couple more.

Man, the way some of them are talking you'd think the Panthers have won the division 3 years in row...oh...yeah...that's right. 

While I do believe that the Bucs will be stiff competition in the future, that future doesn't include this coming Sunday. I think our guys will rebound solidly and get some rest for the next opponent.

One thing the Bucs and Panthers do have in common though...

...neither will play a game in 2 weeks.

Tampa's got a decent team that has been getting better and better. First rate running back, good young QB and good receivers. This is just the kind of team we need to be facing before heading into the playoffs. Our defense will have their hands full and we really need to see them be dominant again. 

It will also be a big game for our offensive line. Sure hope they are up for it.

This may be the highest I have seen us favored.

I mentioned in another thread that I would take us -12 against the Bucs. 

So as a gambler, it makes me happy to know that I am pretty damn close to the Vegas line in my prediction, which is usually a decent indicator that you know what you are doing at least to some degree.

There is a rule in gambling on the NFL.  Never bet against a double digit division dog.  I hope we break that rule this weekend.

I have to disagree with you here. Playing spoiler sounds great until that one extra W means you're drafting Blaine Gabbert instead of Cam Newton.

      Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.

      Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
