  1. 1. Rewind back to OTA's; if someone told you the Panthers would accomplish the following feats in the upcoming 2015 season, which one would have surprised you most?

    • Overall record is 15-1
      45
    • Number one scoring offense, with 500 points
      45
    • Cam Newton is the league MVP

500 points without a doubt.

Cam as MVP isn't such a shock.  We've been seeing his incredible growth, so it almost seems inevitable, though maybe I thought he might be 1 year away.

15-1 is a BIG surprise, but I could have seen that being possible... however I would have expected it to be like 2013 - due to total defensive domination.

I STILL can't believe how potent our offense has been.  It's SO exciting.  What a great time to be a Panther's fan.  Exciting, explosive offense, and hard hitting physical defense.  Best of both worlds.  LOVE IT.

yea, #1 offense is the obvious answer.  With no obvious playmakers at WR (yea, we all like Ginn, but few people would have been honest with themselves if they thought he could be a legit #1), Stewart's injury history, and the O-line not really improving much on paper in the off season, we shouldn't have been in the top 10 offenses, much less #1.

Definitely the 500 points.  I don't think anyone in the NFL is surprised Cam Newton is MVP, he's always had the talent.  It was only a matter of time he won the award.  15-1 is surprising but not as surprising as being the top scoring offense in the NFL.

I can't believe the 500 points isn't getting all the votes. This is the Kelvin Benjamin-less, Mike Shula-led, ball control, running game dominated, conservative Panthers we were all told would need the defense to keep them in every single game to have a chance at .500, much less 500 points.

    • Sounds encouraging.  I agree about the LB....I was CERTAIN second round would be a LB.  I would also like to add that, on paper, DL looked solid--but only 1 performed well in 2025 (2 if you count Robinson, who is now gone).  I am guessing they feel that the LB play will improve with the improvement up front--logical.  Remember the old rule (not sure who said it first) "You build from the inside out, front to back."   We drafted, in my early opinion, a starting NT and C this year.  inside out, front to back.
    • Agree--I think a mid-level tackle but he could prove to be an elite G--not sure how he would do at RT--or maybe Freeling---lotta moving parts--but I would look at him at G if mid-level T is his ceiling--he has been improving, but the injury..
    • Worked an event that many players were at including Ickey. Talked to him, looks and walks around good/normal. Taylor Moton released a new Tequila with his partner Matt Kahlil. Taylor looks great and is psyched for the season. He's such a good guy. Even Derrick Brown, very focused. It's like a quiet, calm I'm gonna rip through you confidence. Building his forever home and sticking around CLT. Bryce stopped in, but was upbuilding talking to the guys, not drinking, smoking cigars like others. There was little different aura with them, almost a quiet confidence, some fun. Reminded me of the 2013-2018 era. Had an event Tuesday with TD (he was there last night too) and he thinks the team looks real good, maybe just needs an another LB. He loves the Devin Lloyd pick up.  No negative comments, just giving a nice update on some players.
