Broncos Fans Saying We Aren't Ready For this Stage

This should worry Broncos fans (as well as the team)-

Panthers points in the playoffs- 80. Opponents 39.

Broncos points in the playoffs- 43. Opponents 34.

Two years ago the Seahawks were supposed to depend on their defense in order to get a SB win. Their 2 playoff wins were 23-15 over the Saints and 23-17 over the 49ers. Nobody expected the hawks to put up 43 pts. Denver was the offensive powerhouse, putting up 33 or more points 12 times in the regular season.

Our defense brings it every game, and the offense speaks for itself. Any Bronco fans who are cocky about their chances are also kooky and clueless.

Only fans fearful of the outcome would try to convince themselves that a team is not ready for the Super Bowl stage.

Could it be that they have safeties playing on bum ankles that must track Ted Ginn and Philly Brown across the field on a deep crossing routes?

Or that those safeties have to bracket Greg Olsen with his double moves?

Just fear from a fan base unsure of what to expect from the Panthers.

What is Kubiak's SB experience? Rivera has a ring as a player, and also was D coordinator in CHI when they lost to Peyton's Colts.... Riverboat won't let this one slip away....

i agree with the sentiment that DEN has no idea what's coming. They have a chance, only cause they're playing, outside of that its looking bleak........ Keep pounding.....

In terms of Yards per game the Panthers played the teams 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 10th. Our points outputs against those teams?

2nd - Seattle - 27 & 31

3rd - Houston - 24

5th - Arizona - 49

10th - Tampa Bay - 38

There is no question that Denvers D is the toughest we'll face, but it's not like we've just run up high scores on weak defenses only

I think there is a question. During the season Seattle was tops in points allowed, with Denver 4th (we were 6th). In post season, among the teams with 2 playoff games, the Broncos were next to last in yds. allowed, with the Seahawks once again on top.

I think you could easily make a case that Seattle has the best D.

I live out here in CO and most Broncos fans I know are just happy to be there.  They're expecting to lose and hoping not to get embarrassed again.

I've already written an open letter to our defense asking them to try not to embarrass Manning too much. We don't want to be like Seattle

    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
    • I can respect the fact that we should not glorify or normalize men who have a history of beating women.  I do not think anyone was thinking of that when they posted this, but if head-butting your wife and unconsensual sex (rape) is something you cannot overlook, I agree with that.  I think they are both half-crazed attention hounds regardless of their pasts.
