Josh Norman tips off our coverages presnap

It appears nearly 100% of time Norman shows presnap if we are in man vs zone.  If it a real or disguised look.

Wow.  Peyton may suck but you can't make the game that easy when no look can be disguised.  His brother if I recall got him good too...so you know Peyton this one way or another

If Pete Prisco figures it out...you would like to think our coaches would have.

Having a tell ultimately did NE in. That is worrisome

That is worrisome, but while having a tell didn't exactly help matters for New England, having to resort to "Throw it to Gronk and pray" on offense is ultimately what cost them that game.

I don't think it's a big deal. It's pretty obvious when we are playing man or zone, all they have to do is send the guy in motion.

I'd say it takes 1 step for Peyton to know if it's man or zone, so it's not a big deal.

Like someone else said, it is very easy to tell if a D is in man or zone...just put a WR in motion. If the CB checking big him follows - Man, if he stays put - zone. Not exactly earthshattering info there...

Man vs Zone is not a huge deep, most teams send a man in motion for this exact reason. if i was norman i would use this to my advantage and randomly start spinning my hands in hope that he thinks its man vs zone.

You can get all the info you need on a D by watching those safeties.

the trick is being good enough to beat it.

Um this is the last game of the season. I'm pretty sure offensive players and coordinators are pretty smart and have noticed this already. I mean even I noticed it when Norman was lined up with Dez Bryant. Not new info.

You can tell the same by looking at any defense. Very few disguise between man and zone. Disguising which zone is key.

 

For instance, I'm pretty sure on one of Norman's picks, it was cover 2 disguised as cover 3.

A defensive tell isn't even close to the same advantage as a center basically telling you when he is snapping the ball to his QB. 18 games into the season and I don't think it has been a problem so far this year, I can't imagine other coaches and QB's didn't notice it, knowing we're in press man doesn't automatically mean open receivers, they still have to beat the press coverage and catch the ball.

If we were playing Manning from 3 years ago then it may be a little worrisome...now that we are playing Peyton "Fasani-arm" Manning, I'm not nearly as worried...

It's the NFL...the have a man take an obvious 5 steps in motion can be disguised as well.  Coaches wouldn't bother working on elaborate disguises if the simplistic motion man always tipped it off IMO.  Probably does some but not always.
