Cam backing away from the ball...

Not going to lie that was one play I'd like to see Cam take back.  If this was a preseason game or something I would have understood, but this was the Super Bowl, you gotta make that play.  Be interested in hearing his thought process on this before I totally crucify him over it though.

As the leader of the team you can lose teamates with lack of effort out there. The defense busted there ass and dove on a couple of lose balls but you can't dive after your own lost fumble. If i'm a teamate i'm like WTF.

That's something that shouldn't be lost on anybody.  You can bet some of his teammates, maybe even the one's with broken arm's are going to be having some questions about Cam's heart there.

Poor decision in hindsight, but to me it looked like Kalil was already diving for it and he saw that and paused. Probably thinking that if they both dive for the ball they'd collide and it'd have popped out. OOOOR we could pretend like Cam is a huge pussy that doesn't value winning over taking a big hit...

Basically what is happening right now is, some of the insanely bitter "fans" around here have literally been waiting months for our QB to make a mistake just so they can gloat, and say I told you so, even if it's at the expense of a Super Bowl title. That is literally how low some of these individuals are. They give pond scum a bad name.

I think it was just a bad decision made in a split-second, something that frankly happens a lot in football.

Don't buy for a minute that he consciously gave up on it.  He just misjudged what was going on.

Like I said, it happens, even to the best players in the league.

People that think it was an issue of effort or cowardice needs their heads checked. Cam literally runs the ball into defenders dozens of timed a game but he's scared to dive on the ball?

He outsmarted himself, he either thought a teammate had it or that the ball would bounce his way. That's it. Jesus!

there's a gif in another thread of it.  he obviously didn't just run away and try to avoid getting hit or something, he was trying to reposition to make a play on it.  he couldn't bend over and get to it faster than the guy that was already on the ground, so the hop back was his way of trying to flop on it.

Dude, people are gonna wish-cast what they've always wanted to believe (including the idiot TV announcers, of whom the people in this thread are proudly joining).

Same as it ever was with Cam.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
