Cam also mentioned the thug talk. Which was the first time I've ever heard him speak on it.

So sorry to that man that he has to hear poo like that. It's unacceptable.

Yeah, in this day and age you expect better from the media.  Hopefully Cam can get to the point where he doesn't allow these hacks to get under his skin with their negative comments.

no i'm saying how he presented himself overall was being a child about it. Again, I antually like CAM he just has some growing to do is all. He's going to be a top QB in this league, and potentially a top QB in nfl history I think at some point in his career. I just wanted him to present himself better, but i'm chalking it up to him still being very very young. Will he ever be as professional as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, or the slew of other elite QB's? Maybe not, but I think he can still be professional in his own way... in time. I wouldn't want Cam to be something he's not, just have a little self control even in defeat.

Really? Brady & Manning? So he should have stormed off the field & thrown his teamates under the bus/yelled at the ref Instead of congratulating the winning team? Wow.

Hey broncs4lyfe (just an amazing username btw) how bout you stfu and log out mmmmkay

Dude is a Broncos fan "from NC".

Anyone shocked that he also just so happens to have abysmal opinions on the local teams players?

You can meet a dozen of those type of mouth breathers in any bar in or around North or South Carolina touting themselves as "fans for life", yet the overwhelming majority of them have never even set foot in the city their team resides in let alone the actual stadium. Someone give that chucklefug a permban already.

What an eloquently thought out response. It's a pleasure to meet such great fans of the game. Instead of doing personal attacks on a me, how about we keep the discussions about the teams and the players. I would hope better from someone on the boards that have been around as long as you have.

If you read, i'm not directly bashing the QB other than his responses. I think he's going to be a GREAT QB, but there are things that elite players are expected of, and that's being respectful to the media after the game. Again, as I said before, I chalk it up to being young, and I fully expect Cam to come into his own.

Kind day to you, sir.

So, being respectful to the media is the most important requirement of an "elite" qb?

Meh. I don't give a damn how Cam is to the media, but I do give a damn how he is to his teammates and how his teammates perceive him. Both Manning and Brady have thrown teammates under the bus, stormed off the field after a loss, and yelled at refs.

Cam doesn't have to do anything you or others on the outside expect him to do to be elite. He's already well on his way to being that regardless how you or others feel

As a follow up to the above, any person who believes that Cam was INTENTIONALLY lackadaisical on that play is a damn fool and hasn't bothered watching the effort and heart that kid has put on the professional football field for 5 years now.

Preach!

PREACH!

Cam said "tit"?  Uh oh, letter to the editor incoming.

I don't have an issue with Cam post game. Chris Harris' comments was the final straw. I understand that. Not easy to talk after losing but it has to be done. Great motivation going forward.

As for diving not diving uhh, im torn. Last game of the year and it's late in the game and your down 6.

Dude lie to me. Tell me you were hoping the ball was going to pop up and you make a play.

Your leg being contorted? You have flipped over d lineman on the way to the end zone in extremely lesser important games.

I think falling on the ball is the only thing he could have done. Oye

Well. Coulda shoulda woulda. Lots of time for reflection.

Here's a good article about Cam & the Lombardi quote.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/cam-newton-s-defense-of-his-pouting-shows-fallacy-of-cultural-debate-185819846.html

Quote

Cam Newton refused to apologize for his relatively brief and not particularly loquacious media conference following the Carolina Panthers' loss Sunday in Super Bowl 50.

"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser," Newton told reporters in Charlotte on Tuesday.

This was a tremendous answer and not because it propped up one side of the debate surrounding Cam or devastated the other side of the debate surrounding Cam. Instead it did both to both.

Dislike Cam because he's a pompous, look-at-me modern star lacking grace and class … how about channeling some Vince Lombardi? Is that old-school enough for you?

Quote

"If I offended anyone, that's cool … I don't have to conform to anybody's wants for me," Newton said. "I'm not that guy. This is a great league with or without me. I am my own person."

This was what Lombardi would say. This is what Bill Belichick would say.

I like Cam and everything he stands for. Ive said this game has come from alot of adversity and overcome on every level. He has the heart of a true champion. 1 SB isnt going to make him who he wants. He wants to be the greatest. That means multiple championships. maybe even like 3 or 4. He wants to beat out brady for rings. He wants greatness. I truly believe he will get there and the Panthers is where he will leave his mark.

... but at least 2 of the 3 elite players you named were disrespectful to THE OTHER TEAM after a loss...

Are you getting why your argument fails yet?

I'll take Cam AND how he handles losing over how anyone else handles losing. I don't want a QB who is comfortable with defeat, ever.

My thoughts exactly Cam...

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
