I proudly admit I am a nerd so in my contemplation for how to describe where I think my football team stands going forward from a complete ass whipping in the Superbowl, I am more than happy to quote Star Wars.

"Do you feel it?  There has been an awakening..."

I joined this joint in the Summer of 2003 (lucky me right). We all know how that season went and I distinctly remember the 04 and 05 seasons...06 and 07 were basically bullshit then 2008 happened and I said something along the lines of: "it could be half a decade before this team rebounds from this" sometimes I hate to be right...

Lets be honest, this fanbase has been (generally speaking) a bunch of preteen poo stains for pretty much the entire existance of the franchise. We held no real home field advantage until playoffs and the crowds didn't exactly have a "rowdy" feel to them. The team, also had the "edge" of lightly toasted bread. For example: 

"We had a bad day to have a bad day" John Fox 
"got jake" t-shirts thrown in the gutter after we got Farved in 2005 and smitty broke his damn leg 


That bullshit is pretty much gone.

I was at that game, I thought the fuging stadium was going to fall down.

This year, it was even better

So the first step I would argue is complete.
Fan base now has a set of balls.

Next, Our team,coaches and Players carried themselves like pussies.

Admit it, you know its true. Soon as Hurney gave out that stupid money half the roster just started collecting checks and developed me first attitudes.
Sure some of the guys still cared, but they were brushed aside. 
Then we lost to the Buffalo Bills and....things started changing again.
Ron Rivera stopped reading Coaching books.
Marty Hurney got fired the the Gettlemaster arrived.

All of that led us to 2015.

Make no mistake, this was the greatest season in Panthers history.
MVP QB
Coach of the Year
Best record in NFC history.
We have possibly the best in the League: 
LB corps
DT combo
Interior OL (GCG)
QB/RB combo
Our Salary Cap is on the mend.
Our stars are locked up for 5 yars
Our fan base has fire again, our team has fire again, and we are all quite pissed off.

Cam is going to fug the entire nfl up up next year, and put a super hurting on anyone he's playing against.

I strongly fee dabbing and smiling Cam may be gone, and mean faced stone cold Cam may be here to light up and destroy everything in his path. 

I can see this man putting in extremely intense and obsessive work, holding his teammates extremely accountable and mauling the opponents who dare face him next year.

Cam is at his best when he's smiling and dancing. Cam had the same look on his face Sunday that he did for most of the Falcons game in week 16.

      Yeah. Probably will be close. I am not rooting for anyone don’t really care that much.   Same for the AFC game, don’t really care. Except it is Sean Payton, I always like it when he loses.  But it’s New England, I can’t root for them. It’s going to be 23 degrees at kickoff in Denver, wind will 12-15mph, dropping to 13 degrees by 7pm with snow predicted to start before halftime.

      Most people will agree with this in principle. But it's situational and also depends on the results you're getting. We were middle of the league in sacks given up. Had the 27th passing offense. And if a few instances that went our way turned out differently we very likely could have been staring at another 5 win season. For the highest salary cap percentage to the OL in the entire league. While we had basically nothing at linebacker and not much at all consistent pass rush to speak of as we were leaning on two rookies. And despite all that our defense which has been on a lopsided end of investment compared to the offense managed to go from league worst and giving up historic single season points in 2024 to middle of the league in 2025 which is quite impressive all things considered. So yes the investment in the OL versus the results certainly matters or at least to should to anyone that would like to continue to improve and also maybe finally win another playoff game.

      Still think that if Carson Beck is there on Day 3 you have to take him. QB depth in drafts has been atrocious as of late but what he is good at translates very well to what the Panthers need a QB to do.
