Lawsuit against Kony Ealy...bizarre

So Kony Ealy and his brother "Dogman" are in hot water, kinda, for potentially defrauding a moron out of $3000.

Ealy is the subject of a weird, little lawsuit filed by a former Mecklenburg sports bar owner. Kris Johnson says Ealy and his brother, Danny “Dogman” Jones, conned him out of $3,000. The nickname is relevant – the dispute revolves around a dog.

It makes  no sense that Ealy would be asking someone for 3000 to invest in a business.  He got a four year 3.5 million deal which paid him a base salary of almost 600,000 in 2015 and he got almost 900000 as a signing bonus. If he thought this business was a good one, he would have slapped down 6000 in a heartbeat. I suspect he could get a loan anywhere. Why ask a stranger for money. And if it is a con, what in the world would he be doing wasting his time with chump change deals. And it just comes out  when Ealy is in the news?  Sounds like Johnson is doing the conning, not the other way around. Or at least dogman is running the show not Ealy.  He wouldn't be the first NFL player who tried to help out a family member or friend and got drug into a lawsuit.  It is going to cost a lot more to prosecute than just payoff which is likely what Johnson is counting on. I am sure Ealy would just have paid it off unless he has nothing to hide and wants to prove his innocence.  Something  to look forward to hearing about in the offseason. .

    • I would write “give remmers tight end help” on a yellow sticky note and stuck it in shulas playbook the night before superbowl 50.
    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
