If we were in-season with only 53 spots to fill, then I'd agree that MAYBE he's worth a look. However, it's the offseason, we'll have 90 players on the roster and there will be several we bring in that never play in an NFL game.

There's really no reason NOT to at least give it a shot if he wants to come here. I'm sure he'd get a small guarantee - if at all - so that cutting him has little impact.

I want Matt Kalil. Currently the backups are Nate Chandler and frenchie, maybe big brother can have a huge difference.

Matt had lots of injuries aswell, just getting fully heathly would do wonders.

So.. he is younger than you, smarter than you, and likes the best College Football team?

I honestly wouldn't mind the move at all. Matt Kalil was highly rated as one of the best offensive lineman coming out of USC in 2012. He was also selected to the pro bowl in his rookie season replacing Trent Williams. I think Matt has some talent and could at some more size and power to a pretty good offensive line we have right now. If the Vikings cut him, I think his best chance to bouncing back is with the coaching staff we have and his brother Ryan. If things can workout with Matt, this could make a really good offensive line potentially dominate.

Not going to be a vet minimum deal but definitely could be a good pickup and at minimum be a solid backup.
