Salary cap is expected to jump to at least $155M this year. Nearly $12M more than last year's ($143.28M).

So, my cap geek peeps, what kind of room would  that give us?

22.3 Million. Plus 8.5 once Allen is released. so we should be right at 30 Million. Cutting CJ would put free up another 11 Million, giving us over 40 Million.

Our roll over in unused cap almost covers our dead money this year thus far.

Here is every teams cap space based on a 154 million projection. We are 20th in cap space according to Spotrac. I'm sure other teams have ways to create extra cap as well but if we did release Johnson we'd move up to 8th in cap space.

Break off a big old chunk of it for KK and Star!

And don't leave out Josh. This is the time to sure up the long term contracts while everyone is still hungry for a SB ring. It might make them a little more amiable in their negotiations.

I agree. I personally want to Norman locked up for 3-4 more years. Not in favor of a 1 year rental via franchise tag. Granted franchise tag will likely be used to create more time to work out long term deal, I just hope we make the long term deal.

    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.
    • I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal.
