The last 10 years of Superbowl Losers

This is probably completely wrong, but I'd imagine those teams also lost more than we will.  Barring a weird Norman situation, we shouldn't lose anyone major going into next season...instead gaining KB, some FAs, and some draft picks. Not saying it was true for all SB losers, but I'd imagine we have as good as (if not better) shot to actually get back to the SB than any of the teams in the OP.

Worst case scenario, I can see the point of the OP and see us being like the Seahawks from last season. Start slow, "meh" playoff record, but are the team "nobody wants to play".

Best case, see you in Houston, tricks.

my concerns about the team: complacency; fitting kelvin into the offensive scheme with the other WRs (i think KB is a plus, but he changes a lot on the field and i hope the chemistry stays intact); josh not being happy with the tag and causing a disruption or josh being traded and having a big fall off at CB; the other DE spot.

pluses: we have a strong young core who knows how to win and is accustomed to being in the playoffs, most of our players are under contract, we have money, we have draft picks, gettleman, Cam is gonna come back with a bad taste in his mouth and will want to make it right, KB looked ready to set the league on fire last training camp -- remember this, lots of people said he looked like the best player on the field offense and defense, our youth continues to grow and mature.

i'm excited to see what happens next season.

The Bills went to the Super Bowl 4 straight years and lost all 4. Anything is possible

FWIW, the Bills beat the Cowboys IN Texas in 1993 in the 2nd game of the year, for all of those that believe we'll start off flat "just because".  The Jimmy Johnson "oh boy" game.

Isn't this a little bit of selection bias by only going back 10 years?

You don't have to go too far back to see the bills that kept getting back to the super bowl and losing.

Much more parity in the modern nfl than even the early 90s when buffalo was making it 4 years in a row.  the recent numbers are most relevant.

Not sure I agree.  The talent and skill level of Cam now to his peers is far greater than the QBs (pick one) of the early 90s to their peers.

I am STILL going through my SB hangover, and I attribute a lot of it to this fact. I was 18 when we last went to the Bowl (31 now) and I just fear that it'll be another 10 plus years. I still get a little gun shy about fully trusting this team and getting high expectations. I desperately want them to win the SB, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
