Moves to improve from last season.

In order for us to get over the hump I feel these moves or SOME of these moves (obviously we won't do all of them) need to be made in this coming FA period.

1.) Eric Weddle - would clearly shore up the backend of our secondary and would be a huge addition. This seems like a marriage guaranteed to happen.

2.) Janoris Jenkins - I could only imagine how unreal the combination of Jenkins and Norman would look. Problem is Jenkins wants to get paid and play as a #1. But let's say Gman had a plan of landing Jenkins for CHEAPER than what an extension with Norman would cost next offseason. It would be interesting to see us let Norman walk next offseason and use the difference between Jenkins and Norman to keep our defensive tackles intact next offseason. To me keeping Star and Short is more important than Norman as much as I love him here, and Jenkins would be a great backup plan.

3.) Ladarius Green - He's VERY athletic and can block... He obviously wants an opportunity to be a number 1 Te after being in Gates shadow for years. We would have to sell him on the fact that in our offense him and Olsen would both essentially be number 1s and used in tandem almost every down. I feel another TE is a must for us to progress from how we finished last season. Having a dual threat TE to go with olsen is huge because we can leave one in to block and help the tackles while still not taking away from the passing game.

4.) Lamar Miller - How can the number 1 rushing offense possibly get better? The answer is PURE SPEED. Lamar Miller would be an X factor for our offense, and would look amazing in the read option with Cam. We are in need of speed in the back field. Don't get me wrong Stewart is a phenomenal between the tackles RB, but our backfield does lack break away speed to keep the defense honest.

5.) Anquan Boldin - This move to me seems long over due and I felt we should have traded for him when the 49ers did. That said at this point in his career he's not a number 1, but is obviously a solid upgrade over Cotchery (who is not coming back). Also underrated is his blocking ability and in our offense to me that is more crucial than his effectiveness in the passing game.

These are my top 5 options in no particular order. I personally didn't include an offense line move because I feel we will be addressing that some point in the draft along with DE. Let me know what you guys think, would you be happy with these moves, or do you have some other guys on your radar?

Yeah, I can almost guarantee none of these dudes are in charlotte next year. Every single one of those dudes want to get paid more than we are willing. So unless one of those guys just gets NO interest from teams for a week, they won't be suiting up for CAR next season.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't want them to!

Boldin would probably take a fair deal, actually.

Not sure about the others though.

That list is at least more reasonable. We could not even afford one on the other list except maybe Boldin.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
