the only thing that kinda worries me is when greg olsen was on the combine watching the TEs he said he wasn't really impressed with any of them and said that none stood out. then they showed a clip of henry missing a catch.

Disagree. If this was a good/great TE class, hunter would be a third rounder at best. Lucky for him this is a terrible class, thus greatly increasing his value. Wouldn't surprise me to see a team take him in the first, given the talent gap is huge. Hope the panthers focus on the strength of this draft DL, OT, and CB rather than reach on a OK TE in a terrible group.

If you ever see him play in person, I have 4 times, he is dominant. He is a first to second round pick in any draft. He is a game changer, not an ok TE.

Hog alumni/fan? Not pissing up that rope.

Nope, I'm a Mississippi State fan and watched him destroy us twice and a couple of other teams that I saw him play against. I think he is the best TE talent in the last 5 years and would be All Pro in a Shula offense.

I was getting bashed for this pick, just shows ppl argue just to be right instead of doing research.

Don't worry about it.  Here is why--

I was asked who I had a player crush on back in February..  As a former TE, I know a little bit about them, so my immediate answer was Hunter Henry.

Reasons:
1. We would be getting one of the top 10 players in the draft--because he is a TE, he drops into the second round. Value.

2.  We really don't have a legit FB.  Henry could motion into traps, ISOs from the backfield, lead sweeps. etc.

3. Olsen is 31 or so.

4. With Henry and Olsen in the game, the defense has to play the run first.  If they don't, we run,  If the do, we shift out and pass.

5.  Cam likes big targets.

6.  He would help the offense more than a WR, RB, or OT.

We can draft BPA now.  Henry would be a great pick.

Yeah, it's like legitimate two-TE sets are just a myth 'round these parts. They have gone on the endangered list since Shockey left.

Henry would hopefully open up another facet on the offense which I believe would be prolific.

This is the best and smartest thread you have had in a while, Dawg.  (That is a compliment, I think)   I have been secretly wanting Hemry for a while, but then smack myself because SS, DE, DT, etc seem like bigger needs.  But when you break it down, NOT SO FAST...

I just don't see staying with Dickson  Aside from his inability to block and catch, he is a decent TE.  However, this makes me think we are drafting a TE--we have talked to a few so far. I think the kid from Stanford is decent too, but rather 1 dimensional.  Vannett from Ohio State is a dark horse.  If you are looking for all around TEs,, he is the second best in the draft.  He was overshadowed at Ohio State because they had good WRs and a terrific running game.
