Also, holy poo does this guy sound like every Cam Newton shitposter we've ever seen on the huddle.

example one billion since cam newton was drafted of a very confused person who thinks that saying dumb poo that makes people mad is ballsy

there's another layer here too: the use of the term "apologist".  he's begging the question - he's putting it on anybody who reads that that cam newton needs apologists in the first place, that is to say one who argues in defense of something or someone controversial.

there's nothing controversial at all about cam newton's achievements or what he's done as a pro.  he's the reigning league MVP and a first team all pro quarterback.  his conduct in that press conference and demeanor in general after the loss is nothing unusual at all for pro sports, either.  it can easily be bent into shape to match a particular narrative though, and it was red meat to the mark schhhchhehlehlelerths of the world

I don't know why they're stuck on this. He answered questions and walked off. There's been press conferences that were x100 worse. Offseason I guess. Nothing else to talk about.

I have to agree here. The only reason an ass-hat like Mark Schelelewleth makes such a dumb and inane comment is just to drum up controversy and news. Plain and simple.

The only way this ends is if we go back to the Superbowl and just win. My honest opinion is I want the media to keep talking and keep motivating the current members of the Panthers. If anything this could make this team real hungry for next season and hopefully prevent an exhausting hangover or slump from losing the Superbowl.

the word apologist has been out of style (as a vogue word for sports commentary that opinionated writers and forum posters use to make themselves sound like they have a broad vocabulary) for a while now. At least 5 years.

today it's all about the "narrative", like "the narrative that I'm being a man child over Cam Newton is not fair to me".

get with the times Mark

I guess if Cam had followed Stink's example by covering himself with Vaseline and using stickum on his hands he would have been have to slip those Von Miller sacks and hang onto the ball? LOL

Nothing better than a known cheater (Mark) getting on his high horse about how someone else (Cam) should act as a representative of the game. Besides the stupidity of bringing this up now, it's total hypocrisy coming from Mark Schlereth.
