Redskins offered Norman $15M a year. Norman is flying to DC on Friday

Looks like he will sign with Washington tomorrow...

Josh Norman - DB -  Free Agent

The Washington Post reports the Redskins have made an offer to free agent CB Josh Norman.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Norman is fielding five-year deals worth between $14-$15 million annually. With an estimated $11.6 million in cap space, the Redskins would have to get slightly creative with the structure of the deal or do some mild cap gymnastics to fit that size contract under the salary limit, but the cap is not a real concern. Norman is meeting with the Redskins on Friday. The 49ers are thought to be the other team seriously involved in negotiations.

Admittedly the Redskins aren't the ideal landing spot (AFC), but here are the reasons I'm ok with this:

1-Washington doesn't scare me, and they are about to eat up $15 million of their cap space. Same old Washington, as soon as the wheels get on track they do something stupid financially.

2-We get to see Josh and Odell twice a year now, and have no stake in it.

3-Josh gets paid. Look I wanted him back just as much as anyone else, but good for him. He went from being the proverbial doghouse to one of the top paid players in the league. He has also always been very gracious with his time towards the Huddle. Good on you Josh!

4-fug the 49ers

Enjoy the contract JNo happy for you and achieving what you want...$$$. Can't knock a guy for securing his personal finanace.  Just hope you weren't hoping for playoffs or a ring.  Can't wait until that Monday Night primetime where you will be lining up against KB and he bodies your a$$ all game and goes Randy Moss on your a$$ in the endzone.

    • Lol Atlanta looks to have lost their young edge rusher, has no 1st round pick, a complete mess at QB, a new coaching staff… And we swept them this year. Says what they think of us.
    • I mean, you can only go so far with the propping up. When a guy's numbers are as bad overall as Bryce's you have to try to find specific niches to sell. It's just funny that they're honing in on where he's probably weakest to try to prop him up. Whether it's a pro-Bryce conspiracy or not, it echos my chief complaint about PFF's analysis for years. When your purely statistical analysis badly skews from the eye test of actually watching the games, it should be screaming at you that you need to modify your system not double down on it. PFF is awesome at compiling stats but their grade systems are highly flawed and they never seem to try to improve them.
    • Then why is Byce also last in other PFF stats?  The deep ball thrower stat by PFF can simply be flawed vs some conspiracy trying to prop up a QB on a team that a former employee now works for.  Both of these guys were also hired AFTER the Panthers had already drafted Bryce.  Trying to prop him up with a made up stat while he struggled would be a detriment to their own team honestly.
