We all heard Bruton's quote about buying Panthers and now his son is echoing those sentiments. Halftime shows would be lawn mower races and flaming school bus bingo but at least buyer would be CLT based.

I've never understood what Jerry's sons did that he didn't want them to have any part of it. I'd assume he'd want a Mara/Rooney type lineage.

Honestly that's best. Nepotism is the worst.

So how much does a owner of the franchises deep pockets affect the team?? Can you just build/buy whatever you wanted for the team? Everything outside of contracts is fair game?

How much money does this family have compared to Jerry R? Would these guys be very involved in choosing coaches, GMs? Directions of the team?

All hypothetical for a curious idiot

Jon and Mark Richardson had some very nasty internal squabbles, most of which were Mark's fault by all accounts.

Jon passed away a while back, so it doesn't matter much anymore.

Anyone who's worked with Mark would tell you that you don't want the team in his hands.

Someone start up the gofundme, the huddle needs to own the Panthers after JR passes.

We'd have a team full of Derrick Henry's every draft.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
