Indeed.

If any NFL franchise was every caught doing such a thing, there would be utter hell to pay by that franchise by their fellow owners.

The whole "it's everybody's fault but Greg's" mentality has reached a new level of silliness.

Fans.  Short for fanatics.  Teams wouldn't even have to know.

You mean fan/fanatics with limited economic means?

Yeah, that's gonna buy a lot of loyalty when the police arrest them for trying to commit fraud/blackmail on a business.

I'm sure those street-corner hookers that the "fan" purchased isn't gonna turn on their Sugar Daddy, are they?

That's just like saying all criminals have limited economic means, when the facts are that FAR more $$$$ is lost and dent on society is made by the white collar criminals that oftentimes blend into our world so well that no one has a clue.

No offense but I think that's an incredibly naive and narrow viewpoint of fans in general.  Football returned to LA this year, no telling now many gazillionaires with something invested that brings.  Paul Allen's friend Bill Gates is a Seahawks fan.  Think a rich someone in Las Vegas wouldn't see this opportunity eventually?

Jerry fuging Jones doesn't want Hardy back.  The Cowboys. With needs at DE. All the problem players they've had over the years and they said "naaaaa, we're good". Jerry. fuging. Jones. Won't. Touch. Him.

Hardy is to blame to nobody wanting him...whether he deserves a shot at redemption in some eyes or not. Not a single NFL owner/GM is currently wanting to touch him. If he would've just shut up and played last year, he probably is on a team right now. But no, he kept running his mouth, even about Brady's wife of all things while always saying he did nothing wrong, pissed off the media, teammates, coaches, etc. That's a Kraken problem...nobody else's. If he had the mental capabilities or maturity of an actual adult, he'd be on a team. He doesn't. He's not.

    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
