need a good scary movie to watch...recommendations?

i've got a few days off and working third shift it's hard for me to sleep at night so i figure i would spend those sleepless nights catching up on some good movies.

i don't like torture movies like saw. i don't like slasher movies. i'm more into haunting and possession type movies.

more recent movies i've seen that i liked are the conjouring, the witch, insidious, sinister, the last exorcism, and (kind of embarrassed to admit) paranormal activity.

anyways....what you got?

i've seen a little about the babaduk and think i heard some good things about it. not sure why i haven't seen it yet.

Oculus is the best horror movie I've seen in years.

The Babadook is good as well.

Loved Sinister as well. Heard its sequel wasn't as good.

Babadook was pretty good but the first half was just stressful.  That kid. ...

hush was good too, but there were some pretty predictable elements towards the end. I hadn't seen that actress before. Looked like a young angelina jolie. didnt mind that at all.

 

Someone told me about this movie called the shift or the last shift about some female cop having to stay at a police station that as getting ready to close. Might check that out.

 

I'lll check out oculus and it follows  too.

The Descent is a great horror movie but it has a decent (but not gratuitous) amount of gore.

The Cabin in the Woods is Joss Whedon taking a swing at the horror genre and knocking it out of the park.

Also, an older one, but a really good one, Ravenous.

There's one from the early 70s I saw as a kid that still gives me nightmares... The Town That Feared Sundown.

Cabin in the Woods is more of a horror comedy but it's still one of my favorites.
