Scrifres will replace him just fine

assuming he's healthy.

with the exception of like 2 dudes every year on either end of the spectrum punter/kicker is the most fungible position in the league and you should absolutely never put a premium on it (lol bucs)

At least we knew what we had with him... It could get a lot worse, sometimes you don't know what you had till its gone. I always thought Nortman did a solid job, nothing spectacular but played his role.

Meh.....he was a good guy. The team didn't feel he was not replaceable. Did they even make him an offer? If they wanted him they could have signed him to a long term contract easily. If they thought he was good he would be a Panther for a very long time.

If Nortman was one of the elite punters he would have been paid like one...by us. He was not

Right but my question is that "couple good, couple bad" reference.  Didnt somebody say that recently as a rule?  3 good 3 bad and the rest are interchangeable?

I feel like im losing my marbles I know I've heard that before.

I'll always appreciate him for that 2013 saints monsoon game for our first division title since 2008.

Easily the best game of his career and he was a huge factor in our win that day.  Our offense kept stalling drive after drive with 3 & outs, yet nortman kept pinning the saint waaaay back on their side of the field

yup.  I remember that.

I forget what game it was this past season, but there was definitely one game where Nortman made a huge difference as well. He flipped the field numerouns times.   It was early in the year.  I'll have to see if I can find it in my stats...

Update:  It was week 2 against Houston.  Nortman definitely helped us win that game.  7 punts.  Longest 65.  Average 53.9.  Note the 6 Panthers drives where we ended inside our own 25 (yikes), and then note the starting field position for Houston on their drives... (phew)

    • Its impossible for me, but given the record of all teams, I understand NFC south is up in the air- All 4 teams have a nearly equal % to win next year. Iants finished one win away and that rookie should be better. BUCS are the best drafting NFC south by miles, Failcons should have won more this past and panthers have BY with other holes in the difference makers.
    • I’d be pissed. We get a starter at position of need at 19
    • @LinvilleGorge hit on this in another thread, but not only was in the wildest Panthers season I can recall, but same given not one sane soul had Pats vs Seahawks in the SB. There's more fuel to state "I have no idea how the season plays out". I was a legit NFL and had great foresight, but not this past year...
