The A10s assigned to Moody AFB is the same Fighter Group the were assigned to Pope AFB prior to the realignment of Pope to an Army Air Field and most active duty personnel and all active duty aircraft  were transferred.  So some of them do have a connection to North Carolina.

almost all ACC, Air Combat Command, assets were sent to Moody, to include the static display aircraft.

The non aircraft AMC, Air Mobility Command, assets were dispersed amongst other bases.  Many of the assigned C130s were sent to the bone yard and remaining serviceable 130s went to Little Rock.
