What Broncos Fans are Saying...

Thinking this game will be on our defense more than our offense. Peyton didn't turn the ball over because he's smart and knew just what the state of his offense was last year. This new QB guy getting hassled by our front 4, and hopefully another stifled run game, should help us generate some good field position and hopefully a defensive TD that will cause the Broncos to keep it really conservative on offense, thus helping the corner situation.

On offense the good news is that the team has been really working hard on the checkdowns which Denver should be giving us, so Olsen can get more involved. Week 1 is usually better for defenses than offenses so I don't want to see Cam airing it out to KB much this week.

Except that Peyton DID turn the ball over in the SB.  He throw 1 Int and fumbled the ball twice (losing 1).

Bottom line is that their turnovers happened out at midfield and our turnovers happened inside our own 15.  That was the difference in the game.

Yup. Dropped passes and that Tolbert fumble hurt as we were driving too.

You know I hate to admit it because I was there, but I have no memory of any of the Manning turnovers (the interception rings a faint bell). That's how much I've blocked that part of the afternoon from my brain to keep from going insane.

Personally I would just like to see Cam show the nation that that whole post conference thing just the flip side of a coin we will see the other side of Thursday, it's difficult talking to non football people about him because that's all they really remember - his dancing and his performance in the Owl. He deserves better.

And the first turnover/sack/TD wouldn't have happened if the refs knew what a fuging catch looked like.  I still think that one call, ONE CALL, ruined the SB for Carolina.  I will go to my grave mad as hell about that one.  EVERYONE knows that was a catch, and if Carolina had the ball at the 40 or wherever the hell that was, the TD never would've happened.

Peyton had 2 turnovers in the Super Bowl.  Biggest issue is where they recovered our turnovers vs where we recovered theirs.

they recovered 2 that was basically gimmie TDs .....those were their 2  only TDs.

I have virtually blocked the entire game from my memory otherwise it would still be pissing me off.

I just watched it for the first time as it is up on youtube. We left so many plays on the field, and there were a few I totally forgot about like the long punt return where our guys thought he called fair catch and they got a FG whereas it would have been a 3 and out. People talk about the game like it was a blowout, I think it convinced all of us too. Them losing Jackson and Trevethon up the middle helps more than people are talking about but they still do have Wolfe and Williams who were their actual heroes along with MJ of their whole little playoff hot streak.

I feel much better about the matchup knowing we gave them our worse and they played their best.

TO be fair, you could string together the same number of GIFs of Cam's preseason miscues.

Siemian had a solid game against the Rams.

True. I feel he likes throwing into double coverage too much for comfort. I just don't understand all the hype. He's got potential for sure, but at best he seems like an average good quarterback so far. I don't see what's so special about him so far.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
