Rookie corner gives up 47 yards in first game against an all pro reciever.

Trash.

Yeah i dont get it either lol. The expectations for CBs has always been flawed around here. Give up one catch and there trash.

Considering this scenario if we are gonna harp on Bradberry for what he did against Thomas than Remmers deserves every bit of criticism he gets.

The coaches had him playing him soft off coverage. This just gives good WRs easy catches. I really hate that.

I understand trying to ease him into the NFL but this might do more harm than good. (for the team and him personally)

They wouldn't be playing him in soft off coverage unless it was necessary. Giving up some easy easy catches is always preferable to getting torched over the top which would be even worse for the team and probably him personally because it could ruin any confidence he has.

Aside from his tackling, I thought Bradberry did fine but if anyone thought that due to our scheme and front 7 that we could just throw him in there and have him doing anything even close to what Norman did last year then they are crazy. No one likes soft off coverage including the coaches but he played it out of necessity.

Not really. They had Norman playing like that until they trusted him to not make mistakes.

It's more about trust than ability.

I knew that there would be some serious overreactions by the chicken little group, but damn. Bradberry gave up under 50 yards to Thomas, had at least 1 bogus penalty called on him, and gave up 0 touchdowns. Did he miss a tackle or two? Sure, but TD ran right past the RB on the screen play that won the game for Denver, and also threw a Boston style flying shoulder tackle that whiffed.

On the defensive side of the ball, Bradberry was not the problem.

And to the guy who said we had problems at kicker, you have a very short memory. Gano has won us many more games than he has lost. Should he have made the kick? Of course, but that does not mean we need to panic and trade for a kicker.

Any CB unable to make a tackle in the open field or get off a block down field should not be manning the outside position.

He was targeted by the Broncos running game. They isolated him on the RB and did not even bother to block him with a WR several times.

It was not just him. The entire secondary has trouble making tackles against the run. It was disgusting to see how the Broncos could care less about the secondary and sent 2 extra blockers at the LBs to wall them off.

Bradberry unable to get off a block 30 yards down field was bad. That allowed a long run on the screen pass for a TD.

Bradberry let CJ run by to set up a TD. Then Coleman whiffed and Bene had no clue when the FB went running in for a TD.

2 TDs were a direct result of the secondary being unable to tackle and read plays. 148 rushing yards given up.

I guess no one noticed Kurt Coleman looking back to see where Bradberry was on a catch to his receiver. Bradberry kept running about 15 more yards down field by himself after his receiver broke off his route. Bradberry looked clueless several times, and a SB contender can not have that on the field.

He was more than happy to run with WRs and RBs downfield while waiting for TD or Luke to come in and clean it up. He seems be afraid of contact. The announcers even called him out.

It was a terrible game by Bradberry, He is a rookie and I expected that much. However, rookies do not get any additional room for error. When a player is on the field they are all expected to make plays and take care of their responsibilities. If they can not be trusted, then there is the sideline and next man up please.

First game

Prime Time

No TDs given up if I remember correctly.

I think he did a pretty decent job against one the top of the line WRs.

James is going to be an excellent CB.  Just looking at him, you can tell he's the real deal.

However, he will give up catches and have his share of penalties.

but he does not like to tackle and give up his body. That does not work in this defensive system.

Exactly plus he has swag that is underrated.

I'll go on record saying the notion of starting 2 rookie cb's is stupid, name one team that has done so successfully.

james played decent but i would have preferred easing him in the line up behind veteran cb's, letting Norman walk is going to be a bigger thing then some here thought.

LOL that's cool and all but we didn't start 2 rookies at cb.

We started Bene, McClain, and Bradberry...but yea the rest of us actually watch the games .Also in the presser today Rivera laments the fact that they didn't get the other rookie involved....really reinforces what I already knew about a lot of posters man...just don't really pay any sort of attention. http://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=400874484

Back on topic though....4 catches for 46 yards...release the kid now he's done. Can't make a comeback after that sort of effort.

he's gonna learn and get better.

How many loses are you willing to take for him to learn and prove himself enough that defenses leave him alone.

I am sure you have a number. With a team that is SB or bust, he gets 0 games to contribute to a loss as a defender imo. Easy targets for an offense should not be on the field for a SB or bust team. Good rookies should never be on the field for a SB or bust team without a vet to back them up or cover them. In his case a pass rushing DE or FS. That would be Tre Boston and Kony Ealy. Neither of them are in a position to cover up Bradberry's deficiencies. Boston and Ealy need a vet to cover themselves.
