This is good. The more publicity, the more difficult not to throw the flag next time. That's the reason why I wanted Ron to be more vocal about the whole thing.

I understand this sentiment, and kinda-sorta share it.  It would make us feel better to have Ron venting.

But as long as Ron has done everything possible behind the scenes, and is REALLY taking a stand & that our players know it, and that they're supporting him in how he handles this, I'm ok with it.   In a sense, it's better to have others fighting the battles publicly for us...  takes some of the spotlight off the team, and doesn't give other teams bulletin board material.  They can't say that we're publicly whining or being "crybabies" - quite the opposite.

I've heard virtually no one, other than obnoxious Denver fans, try to claim that we're using this to somehow excuse or justify our loss.  Most commentators are really focusing on this as a matter of safety and principle.  That's a VERY good thing for us.  Ron's "low-key" "business-like" public response to this helps play into that.

We don't need a repeat of the SF playoff game with emotions and tempers high leading to careless play.  Keeping a lid on some of the emotion and channeling it into the game next week may be a good thing,

I agree with KB.  Although my own emotions and anger have been on the nuclear level regarding how Cam has been ignored by the officials for 5 years and how incredulous I am on how much Denver was "allowed" to continue to target Cam, I agree that it is better that the Panthers front office and the coaching staff keep it professional and let the media, pundits, and others display all the emotion and outrage.  As much as I want to lay the wood on some folks myself, a cooler head will prevail and be the better course of action for now.  I am not convinced that anyone on the Denver side will get more than a slap on the hands with a $$ fine; but, this may certainly turn the tables for us and be a potential resolution to a long overdue incendiary issue for our QB.

I am all the more a bigger (if it's possible) fan of Cam and hope his teammates keep that poo in check and show the rest of the NFL that they have his back.  They do not need to use violence to make that point, I will be happier with there being more teammates being very vocal with the league.

I know we've talked about the roughing the passer stat in a few different ways, but they said something on the Fox pre-show that I don't think we've seen mentioned in this way: Cam was the only quarterback who played all 16 games who didn't get a roughing the passer call at all last season.

It's been talked about in a few threads, graphs have even been posted. Cam hasn't had one since 2014 I'm pretty sure.

While this situation still infuriates me.....the way it is going right now it seems that many people are viewing Cam Newton in a different light ( people who opinions actually matter, not stupid Broncos fans or Seahawks who will go out of their way to continue to call him a cry baby ) .  He took the beatings he got thrown at him from those dirty donkey pos players and he did not throw any of the refs under the bus, even though they deserved it.  Nothing bad at all can be said about Cam Newton, his attitude, being a cry baby or anything of the sort and has probably earned respect for people who had the wrong idea about him for years.   So glad this is finally getting some recognition after all these frustrating years and hopefully things change for Newton.
