Just checked, we're OK

So I do love you Huddle.  Through the good times, and the bad.  But during the bad times (or after loses in general) there is a strong perception that the sky is falling.  Sorry y'all, it's just rain!  The Sky is ultimately still there!

So, we had a great 1st quarter, and then got disassembled by a very good defense.  Let's put things into perspective:  we're a field goal away from being 2-1.  Think on that narrative for a sec.

OK, we played a poo game versus a very good Vikes team.  Remember, we're the NFC Champs, and we have the most flamboyant QB in the league.  Everyone is going to give us their best game unless we put them down.  Look at the 49ers, we almost let them back into it before we slammed the door shut.  After the safety, we completely feel apart.  I think it's a correctable issue.

I am concerned about coaching moving forward.  Do we develop a shorter passing game to account for these crazy blitzes?  I'm just some moron on a football forum, not a professional football coach.  Thankfully my career isn't based on that!

Look up everyone, enjoy the rain.  Wash out the salt, tears, and angry "everyone sux" threads.  Atlanta is coming up, and it will be a battle to get our season back on track.

The sky may not be falling but it feels like it, although I agree that all is not lost just yet. I also concerned about our coaches too. We fail to make adjustments to counter our opponents on both sides of the ball. I think the biggest adjustment would be better play calling; getting the ball out quicker. We'll see what we do in Atlanta.

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
