who is equally slow and also running long developing routes. it's not a coincidence that the guys Cam was targeting were the ones with the speed to run their long-ass routes before a defender was in Cam's face. it just so happened that the fast ones can't catch.

This is the best/funniest thing I've read all day. So true

I want them to address the issue with us hiking the ball when the play clock is about out. How does this keep happening?

That would require the reports to actually press and ask questions instead of sucking up to the organization till they leave the observer/rockhill/etc to ESPN

lol ron still refuses to assign blame where it belongs.. you know this is easily going to bite you in the ass whenever you find yourself back on the hot seat right ron?? I really hope you know what you are doing.

You realize it's a presser with a set of Ameteur reporters who will do anything just to spin something? Not the coaches meeting this morning, or the team meeting. I trust in Gett and I trust in Ron. It wasn't just a fluke he's 2x coach of the year and we have been the most competitive we have been in ages.

If ron really wants to send a message sometimes you have to use the media to do it.

Maybe, just maybe we should try some short and intermediate routes to loosen things up when Cam doesn't have time for downfield routes to develop?

I wasn't at the game so I can't say this was always the case, but I know I saw a few plays where an outlet was open and Cam never went that way.  Leading to bad results every time.

Exactly!!! In hurry up at end of the game we could not get the play off. The first drive we ran no huddle and this gave Cam plenty of time to make adjustments. The second scoring drive we huddled but still got to the line with 20 seconds on the clock, enough time for adjustments and we score with ease.  It was sporadic the rest of the half and filled with Penalties. The second half was absolutely awful. It seemed as if Shula was content on how the offense was doing and did not make adjustments. Once we got down it seemed as if he did not know what to call and cam would break huddle with 12 seconds and zero time for adjustments.

Everyone saying short routes are missing the wider point: Benjamin and Funchess are NOT good enough route runners for a short passing game. Their big frames makes it much easier for DBs to press and reroute them and throw off any timing throws, and they haven't developed the physical subtleties to counteract that kind of defense yet, unlike Olsen. Philly and Bersin and even Byrd needed to get more involved in this offense as they are much better suited to the intermediate game right now.

I've seen KB run tons of slants and we connect on a lot them. It's because his big frame does help in those instances.

Yeah, play calling sucked yesterday. Gonna be a shame if Cam has to go through all the prime years of his career saddled by Shula.

He more than likely will though. Cam is too good for the offense to bottom out which is what's usually needed for a coordinator to be fired.
