Cam hangs up on Atlanta media... lol

Cam Newton fielded questions from the Atlanta media today via conference call. Apparently, they were not too happy with what they got from Cam.

The transcript from the conference call reveals the level of questions asked.

My personal favorite....

Q: How did the Vikings take Kelvin Benjamin away from the offense?

A: “Do you really think I’m going to tell you that?”

Q: How do you all plan to get Kelvin Benjamin going against the Falcons?

A: “Throw it to him.”

I'm sure the media wasn't doing anything to deserve attitude.  Of course, we now live in a world where everyone is owed something.  Reporters can say and do whatever and Cam has to politely take it or get blasted.

Probably a lot of "talk about X Cam". Then we can pull out the one phrase to meet our planned narrative we already have written

In fairness, if hometown guys ask him the same question about dealing with a loss.....he gives them the same treatment.  He has been saying it for a half decade and appears done. He isn't a good loser and he is content with that

Haha. I usually don't bother with player press conferences, but no way in hell does any player answer those questions about strategies. The hat question was the only interesting one.

Soooo... what is your plan in getting Kelvin back in the game this week?

GTFO

    • This whole thing is sooooooooo dumb, why any of this is an ongoing news story is ridiculous. There are only 2 people who should actually care about this, his wife and her husband. Affairs happen, not that I'm saying it's okay to cheat, but at worst, the only "bad thing" that could be coming around from this affair is that information was passed between them, the same type of info that any coach and journalist who are friends may share with each other to help the other out. The Patriots shouldn't care as long as it doesn't affect his focus on the team.  And those saying that he's lost the locker room and their respect over the "lying" have to be fooling themselves.  Half the players in that locker room are more than likely actively or previously have cheated on their significant other.  So it's not like they're looking at him saying, "what a liar and terrible person, I can't trust him as my coach anymore"
    • Seriously?!?! First SNF game of the year and it's two teams that didn't make the playoffs last year? I thought they always made that Week 1 SNF game a banger with two great teams from the previous season. EDIT:  Just looked, last year was Bills-Ravens, previous season was Lions-Rams, Giants-Cowboys ironically before that (but both coming off the playoffs).  From what I can tell, this will be the first time since 2020 that SNF's week 1 game isn't 2 teams from the playoffs the year before, and the Cowboys were in that one too, against the Rams who also didn't make it the year before.
