If Josh Norman was out there the Panthers would not have had a  midget covering a tight end in the end zone against the Saints.

yeah there is no scenario where having Josh Norman out there doesn't significantly improve the defense and this team.

Brees alone would've been sacked numerous times if there were literally anybody out there who could buy the defensive line even a modicum of time.

This team is at least .500 with Norman and probably better.

There's a huge difference between having a valid point and being happy about it or celebrating it. No one should ever be happy that their team is under performing

I was not happy about the front office under performing in the off season. I was not happy about the players with time investment looking like trash in the preseason. I am not happy with the time wasted given the talent the Panthers have on their team.

All they needed to do was secure the secondary and add a pass rusher. There was more that could have strengthened the team, but that is all they had to do to take another run at a SB.

I want the Panthers to be a SB champion. I will call it out when I see moves that take the Panthers away from that goal, and no I am not happy with division championships.

At the very least, the Panthers must make moves to get to the NFC Championship game.

Continually putting rookies in the secondary will not achieve that goal.

I do think the team will gradually improve over the course of the season. I expect a strong finish, but we really need an injection of talent via high draft picks, and winning down the stretch will push us down the draft board. I've been around long enough to spot a team that will be a late bloomer. We'll be better when it no longer matters playoff wise.

If we don't finish strong, and that's certainly possible with the injury bug, we could be looking at a top 5 pick. Really what we need to do is draft a LT and top level DE, and move Oher to RT. That would stabilize the o-line for Cam, and inject a pass rush just in time for our secondary to put things together next season. That can all happen if this current team continues to blow chunks. C'mon scrubs give me some L's.

That's the spirit.

If you draft a LT to take over for Oher, you just made him a really expensive back-up. Because barring some bizarre event, Williams is not giving up RT.

Other than that. Have at it. I ain't sure if I want to lose for a pick, which I hate? Or play to win, and all that jazz?

Well me drafting a LT for the Panthers would be a bizarre event as well. So why not follow it up by putting Williams back in his backup roll where he belongs? It's my fantasy plan after all.

Now don't take this the wrong way, mkay? But the saying is "Stupid is as stupid does." not "Wow, that just might work." If you want to lose, follow that plan of yours boyyo.

Here's what smart money does. They draft that LT, and cut Oher and his contract. You let Williams man the RT spot, and you now have a top flight line. You then cut Kalil, and install Gradkowski at Center, and use that money, to bring in a mediocre DE to pair with the one you drafted.

Now pay attention, cuz this is where it truly gets exciting. Cut TD, install Shaq, use that money for a FA CB opposite BB, and with the money you have left after signing Trai, KK, and everybody else worth a tinkers darn, you bring in a SS worth his weight in Doritos.

Cut Stewy, draft a 6th round RB out of Buffalo State, and use that money on a true FB. And lastly, You beg TD to come back for a couple more years at vet min.

SuperB owl Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tl/dr version. It doesn't work that way. None of this works that way.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought we were playing, my fantasy is better than your fantasy? My bad.

First time I've ever been called a troll. What would/should be the proper response? Confusion? Should I be happy, sad, or down right indignant?  Not sure I want to play with you anymore, maybe I'll just take my ball and go home.

    • Redeemed ourselves with a solid middle to end the night....
    • This is spot on, with the first 5 years of a QBs contract being so pivotal, as it should, unless you have Pat Mahomes or the reincarnation of Tom Brady, stats shows once the qb gets paid, the teams Super Bowl chances shrink significantly  what we did to get Bryce was idiotic to say the least, not because of the player(not a Bryce endorsement) but because there’s a long history of proof, making big swings at qb, are usually big misses  find the identify, build around that, and go from there. Unfortunately we don’t have one, and neither the defense nor offense side of the ball are more than good at best
    • Seems like a loaded EDGE class. though I think we don't spend a premium pick there with Scourton/Princely showing production and potential.  Concepcion at 19 is intriguing and seen ARSB comps with his shiftiness, high IQ and YAC ability. He and TMac would be a nasty 1-2 combo at stretching a defense. Brenan Thompson could be that day 2 speedy/slot guy that could boost his draft stock in Mobile.  Sam Hecht could be a later selection for C depending on how we are planning to attack that position in FA and our own previous guys. Shelton from PSU is an interesting developmental tackle that if he can get locked into an NFL strength program and rock up, could be good down the road. Speaking of PSU, Dani Dennis Sutton was a guy last year I was big on and was bummed he headed back to Happy Valley. I think he can be a helluva NFL player, and if he can show improvement in his pass rush moves, I wouldn't be mad at him in a trade-back situation.
