Not a fan of replay/review on QB hits

I personally don't care to extend the game to review hits (or open the can of worms involved). And frankly, I don't have confidence in that approach solving the issue.

My take: You really want to stop guys from targeting quarterbacks in the head? 

Sit em.

Make blatant offenders miss a game or two (as well as the paychecks that come with them) and start penalizing teams and coaches whose players have a habit of this with suspensions, loss of draft picks, etc.

That's the only way you're gonna stop guys like Gregg Williams from pulling garbage like this.

Me either, replay is not the answer.  Full time refs? Maybe.  But the biggest thing would be like Richard Sherman suggested, simplify the rules and enforce them equally.

I will have to completely disagree on this one with you. Replay in this instance would immediately fix the glaring problem that our team in particular seems to be dealing with. Implement replay and it almost guarantees us 7 more points a game.

I do like your theory but won't the players union fight that tooth and nail? My issue with the review and replay system is that for guys like Cam, there will magically be no solid proof.

Honestly, the Players Union is likely to fight just about anything.

This is true. I don't know what the best solution is right now, but there needs to be something. Long overdue.

I personally, despite hating him, just think with technology the way it is now...Belchicks approach makes the most sense.  Gave a coach 3 flags and make any play reviewable. 

Viewers at home simply have the HD 60 inch screen with 80 camera angles and know the reality of things that those years ago had no clue about years ago.  Given we simply see and know now.

so if the league continues their comical stance of not employing full time refs then let coaches challenge anything. 

I still think real refs who do the job for a living instantly helps.   Not a lawyer who catches a red eye on 4 hrs asleep and ref something he hasn't thought about all week

I don't want reviews. That'd completely make the game burdensome. That's just extra commercials and more sitting there watching nothing for a simple call like that.

I agree completely.

Coaches already have 2 challenge flags.  So it doesn't really make a game really any longer than it is.  They would just have more options in how they could use them

The college rule automatically cleans up the NFL game.  Guys don't care about fines....they care about being on the field

Reviews that are ultimately seen by Dean Blandino and follow the "indisputable evidence" standard?

I don't think you should have replays for them, but I believe there should be an official in the box that does nothing but watch video of the game.  He can see what the refs on the field can't and if he sees targetting or egregious personal foul penalties, he can eject people.  Aside from that, with the multiple views that TV cameras offer, he might see something that a ref misses and I think he should be able to talk directly in the ear of the head referee.  This is not only a way to limit headhunting, but the idea that instigators are missed and they only penalize the guy who retaliates in many cases would be alleviated because he can see on tape who did what.  I've thought this for a while, but it's to simple for the NFL.
