1 Takeaway From Sunday's Loss to Chiefs

1. Panthers cannot hold a lead

Was a stupid playcall to try and go for something with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter against a Chiefs defense that takes advantage of turnovers. Turnovers killed us this game, which we should've won. Beyond shocked and disappointed.

It's still possible to make a playoff run, it's just we have to actually win the South now. Cannot falter or make a mistake. Falcons lost like I expected. There's hope, but if we do not hold big leads, stuff like this will happen.

And Panthers cannot come back from behind.

If the game had gone to overtime plenty of folks would be bitching about it, especially if the team lost. Horrible luck but the general decision really doesn't bother me, but I don't understand why no throw to the sideline if they were serious about moving the ball.

We can't hold onto the lead because we have the worst collective staff you'll ever see.

I don't doubt some of Riveras training ability...so that's why he's DC...train your defensive players but overall he's a moron. He is by far one of the worst game managers  ever seen and his in game coaching ability is dead last among the current coaches. They do not know their players or do not care what their strengths and weaknesses are because they clearly keep playing to our own weaknesses.

And with STs consistently doing the exact same incorrect poo no matter who the STs coach is that's on Rivera too. They either don't practice at all or nearly enough so if you ignore an entire phase of the game you deserve to be a loser.

    • Why would we not be contenders? As long as Bryce plays like he did when he came back, we absolutely can be contenders...that is...   if the defense plays better... which is why adding someone like Ramsey when we have a QB on a rookie deal and can afford it makes sense IMO. No one thought of the Commanders being contenders last year or the Texans the year before and so on and so forth. Top-end QB play, especially for a guy on a rookie deal, changes everything in terms of timelines. Regardless of what this board thinks, I hope the front office is willing to he aggressive in thks window we currently have with a rookie QB deal
    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
