Time For a Complete Coaching Change?

I think the coaches have their flaws - especially in the 2nd half. This has been a constant, but we know they are good enough to compete with the best. We know they are good enough to coach a 15-1 team and go to the SB.

The issue is the coaches need certain players to win with their systems and gutting needed players to load up on inexperience, a lack of talent, and rookies will not get it done.

They need CBs like Josh Norman and Peanut Tillman that can change games and consistently threaten the offense with turnovers. They need DEs who can rush the passer.

Who do you replace Rivera with? You do not want a new inexperienced coach who needs to have 3 years to learn.

The quality replacements for Rivera are thin. You need a Belichick or a Pete Carroll ready to jump in to replace Rivera. Anything less is pointless. Getting rid of Rivera would be like getting rid of Steve Smith or Josh Norman to replace them with Philly Brown and James Bradberry.

The front office needs to work better with the coaches. The front office failed to give the coaches the players to win, and it shows. WR, OT, DE, CB, and S continue to be problems. How long is it going to take to address these positions for multiple years in a row? By the time the WRs develop, they will all be gutted again for another set of inexperience WRs.

I am tired of being the farm team for the rest of the NFL.

6 years. It's been 6 years to evaluate this coaching staff as to whether they have what it takes to WIN a superbowl. I've seen enough. Continued failure after the 1st half, ZERO in-game adjustments, constant time management failure, and constant lack of focus and discipline from our players game to game. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions to break through to the top (Denver, Bucs, Ravens, etc.) Gettleman still has a longer leash, but if he has another offseason like this one, his ass will be on the hot seat too.

So what say you, do you think it's time for a complete overhaul coaching change, or just certain coaches (cough cough.......Shula)?

I agree.

Top to bottom.

Hire a head coach that would be excited to take advantage of a Cam Newton instead of just running the ball 1980's style.

Ron might get a pass but Shula should not

Ron shouldn't either.

The flaws we're seeing aren't new. They're the same things we've been seeing since Rivera started.

Rivera is probably the most likeable guy we've ever had in that spot, but he's just not a head coach.

It's been time for Shula to go, but thanks to our SB run last year he stuck around instead of getting picked up by another team. Sean is a competent D coach, with the right players(see Dave Gettleman) he does well. Ron has shown over and over again that he's not willing to change, even when it's obvious that teams have figured him out. Next year is do or die for him. Dave better unlock that friggin safe Jerry keeps his cash in and do the right thing this offseason, or he won't be around after next year.

Ultimatum, Boot shula, if Rivera refuses, boot his ass too.  I don't remember seeing a team brick the fuging bed so hard in the second half in my lifetime.  Shula better fuging go.

Here's the thing about that though...

Say Ron boots Shula to save his job.

Guess what?  NOTHING CHANGES.

Why?

BECAUSE MIKE SHULA IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT RON RIVERA WANTS AND IS COMFORTABLE WITH.

New OC?  Whoever would be chosen would be chosen to run the ball 1980's-style and who cares about all those special rules the NFL has passed to make the passing game advantageous?

It's not just Shula.

The clock management, depth chart choices, poor planning, decision making and lack of adjustments all fall at the feet of the head coach.
