The Panthers don't want Randy Moss's help

Moss could teach our players a lot, not just route running but how to attack the ball, if the pass isn't perfect our receivers just left the ball sail pass them, letting passes hit them in the pads to. I think philly brown was the last wr I've seen attack the ball at the highest point and that was in the Super Bowl

I just don't see what the hell Moss would have to offer. These guys are adults. They play a kids game and if they don't take the poo seriously they lose and eventually lose their job. It's that god damn simple. Having Randy Moss give a talk to the team isn't going to make us a Rocky story or The Mighty Ducks. And if it did I'd be seriously disappointed in the kind of men we have on the roster.

Lol at one of the greatest WR in the game having nothing to offer this team or our stable of WR's. Arrogance at it's finest.

Just what do you think he would say that would make a difference?

"Hey stop dropping crucial passes".

"Hey Shula stop calling dumbass plays"

"Hey Ron stop wasting timeouts like a dumbass and show some balls when the game is on the line".

"Hey refs stop cheating my team out of the game."

"Hey refs stop allowing Cams head to be blown up time and time again".

"Hey Dave how about you stop being a fuggin idiot and replenish the roster?"

Actually if he said all that I'd be quite pleased.

Randy has years of experience that guys in our WR group don't have. He's been through it all. There's a gang of knowledge he could pass on. KB, for example, sucks at his route running. You have some of our WR's who don't know how to fight for the ball properly. These are all things one of the greatest WR in the game could teach. Not to mention, just having greatness in the same room with you can elevate your game. To pass up all the knowledge that Moss has to offer is dumb. People on here mention how Moss gave up on plays. Moss can tell that story to our young guys, and warn them of the perception that comes with lack of effort. Tell them how much greater he could've been if he put in more work.

We aren't losing because of the WRs. It is partly a talent issue but it is also beyond that. It's coaching. It's Rivera  relying on a defense he knows can't be relied upon. It's Shula funneling an offense through KB who is not ready to be a #1 WR again. It's Dave wasting 3 picks of our draft on the same position that could've benefited the entire roster. It's Gano being a pussy for not getting over the Denver miss and costing us another 3 games. It's keeping Mike Tolbert who doesn't do poo but fumble and cause INTs. It's DG again for not getting a RB worthy of being Stewart's #2.

It's a host of problems that a pep talk cannot solve.

What's he going to teach our WR's that Ricky Proehl hasn't already taught them? There's such a thing as having too many cooks in the kitchen.

And there's also such a thing as not having enough cooks. I think Proehl is doing a fine job, but IMO, we have seen some regression in our pass catchers this year. There are still issues of fighting for the ball, issues of getting separation,  and still a problem with drops. Hell, you had KB who made a major gaff in the Oakland game and didn't extend his route pass the 1st down marker.

All I'm saying is if MJ, not only the greatest, but the greatest mid range player, come and offer to help me with my mid range game, I'm going to take it. Same applies for Moss. Now, we don't know in what capacity he was offering to help in, so I'm assuming he was offering to help our WR's.

This place is toxic right now lol.

"They didn't bring in the moss man during the middle of the season?!?!  OUR FRONT OFFICE SUCKS!!"

Jesus guys, come on.  Moss, one of the most eccentric football players out there, tweeted one thing and we're supposed to take his word over the organization's.

These days I'd take Trump's word over anyone in charge of this organization's...

To be honest, Ricky hasn't done much of anything.   People like to say he has because he was a fun player here, but really, who has he developed?   KB is KB from college, same big, lazy, WR that uses his size to do everything but is unpolished.  Funchess is about the same as well.   Ginn is Ginn, super speed and has drop issues, we just accept him for what he is and other teams wouldn't.    That's pretty much what he's done.

Randy Moss is probably the 2nd best WR of all time, so I'm not sure how you can dismiss the guy this fast.

    • I think at some point you top out what God gave you.  He can use leverage via his mechanics to maximize what he has and When he pays attention to it the throws are better.    IMO as a layman a lot of it is what kind of ‘headroom’ you have. The guys who are gifted don’t have to use maximum effort to get good results and stay within themselves but they have it in reserve. They can do an arm throw for substantial distance without max effort.    I think what we may be seeing with these ‘lasers’ is a throw that Bryce puts the max effort into and does his mechanics right and has his base right and it works together.    To get to the payoff here, I think his best velocity throws take dall that whereas  a naturally gifted guy doesn’t need to go full effort to get that same velocity. I have said this three or four times over the years and it never gets picked up on but the accuracy is more consistent with an easier motion and max effort can produce less predictable location. It is a baseball pitcher thing but it applies to throwing a pass too. It isn’t that you can’t make an accurate throw with full effort it is just not as reliably accurate to the same degree. Someone said something about his pro day and that is where I saw it too. He took a little extra step on the deep throws. Some call it a hitch but I don’t see it that way because I don’t see it on shorter throws. He does it trying to get distance. I saw that and just wanted no part of it at 1.1 . That is not tne characteristic of a 1.1 passer.  He should have been at best, late first  I had him second day. Of course I am no one and certainly not a pro evaluator, it is just that he WS so easy to suss out. They must have thought they could fix him. Changing a lifelong throwing motion with the footwork tied into it is not fuging easy. Anyone that had decent success with ‘their’ way and tried to change it to get more, can tell you that.
    • Sounds like a tad bit of what Josh Allen had. He would make throws that made zero sense die to his desire to make a make. Bryce also turns the ball over believing their is an unlimited shot clock in those moments. Sometimes the best play is to reset for the next one.
    • See, I think one of his biggest issues is he bails too early.  His instinct has been to bail as soon as defenders get behind him and the pocket starts to close in. Taller QBs hang in there for that extra second or two and throw over guys as the pocket collapses in the QBs lap.  BY runs as soon as this starts to happen, which means routes don’t have time to develop and the field gets cut in half as soon as he runs. This last game I saw some signs of him being willing to hang in the pocket when the defense gets behind him, but that has been rare.
