Mario set a league wide season high yesterday

Panthers DE Mario Addison notched 12 QB pressures against the Chargers in Carolina’s 28-16 win.

Addison’s mark is a single-game high among all edge defenders this season, and helped him to a position-best pass-rushing productivity mark of 35.6 in Week 14. While Addison remained a constant threat to Chargers QB Philip Rivers throughout the course of the game (one sack, 11 QB hurries), he wasn’t the only Carolina player experiencing success on the pass-rush; Rivers was pressured 28 times on Sunday. Compare that to just five pressures on Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, the lowest mark thus far in Week 14.

Even if we can't get him better against the run, I want him on our team for the next few years.

I'm just curious to see if Mario is any good at run support, which is the main reason he isn't starting.

It's like having a half DE that just specializes in pass rushing from Mario, while Horton is a pure run stuffer.

Just some things to think about. But Mario needs to be paid.

The panthers obviously see him as a situational pass rusher and there's nothing wrong with that.

However it's difficult to pay someone for that, especially when some other team will almost certainly overpay in the hopes that he could be a full time player.
