Cam's worst statistical year. Why?

Lowest Passer rating and completion percentage of his career.

Why is this, in your opinion.

Possible explanations:

Inept play calling unable to compensate for league adjusting to Cam.

Bad offensive line

Told not to run, thus removing a threat and allowing defenses to pin ears back.

League approved Head hunting and concussions.

What say you?

Are you not even going to consider the possibility that he has a part in his play quality?

I think the reasons are numerous and varied. Team got complacent. Even DG seemed to half-ass the offseason. Cam had other priorities over the summer with his TV career. For whatever reason, Cam is not running this year which totally changes the way defenses play us. The number 1 wideout is struggling to get his game going. Olsen has had a few more drops than normal. Cam's mechanics have regressed. This season just sucks ass. Goodbye 2016.

A player doesn't go from league mvp to low point in career without help.

A player doest have the season Cam had last year and win MVP without a lot of help either.

While Id put the lions share of the blame on an O-Line that couldn't block a Pop Warner defense, there's plenty left over for the lack of offensive adaptation to a scheme that works with what we have.

But to ignore the fact that Cam has regressed mentally and physically this year smacks of some Blind Delhomme Newton Jock Sniffing

The hits in the first game rattled him...  he realized the league wasn't going to protect him and the coaches solution was for him to run less, which caused problems to the overall offensive scheme... inept playcalling and lack of adjustments by the coaching staff...  carousel on the O line...  and once we got on a losing streak, it went downhill from there.

Plenty of blame to go around.

My opinion is not popular    My opinion has changed

I have also been a huge supporter of his until this year, as early as the 3rd preseason game he seemed to not want to be here

until he learns to handle a blitz and play smart football he will continue to be an unsustainable, one trick pony.   As Atlanta figured out and Denver reiterated , neither he or Shula can handle a blitZ

he has  zero touch on the ball and throws into a crowd...  his throwing the ball up and hoping for a miracle against Seattle was poor

note to Cam, if there are three defensive players around your first read, someone is open  it is your job to quickly read the field and find them

he needs to work on his  craft and evolve or he will be short lived in the NFL

of course, he could always model but he needs to understand he got that opportunity from winning football games.  Of course 67 million guaranteed ...

Things that are interesting and endearing when winning  aren't so much losing

tie thing was ridiculous but he had been on the team for 6 years the rule was not new   Why not follow it.?

No, let's be different as after all Cam 'wins his way.'   He loses his way too

Win against the Redskins Cam. National TV you know. Make a couple of plays .  Team feeds off you and there have been elite QBs in worse positions then you are now who in addition to not having  an oline didn't have Olsen, Stewart and two receivers drafted specifically to hide your accuracy issues

sorry. Have the guy's jersey. I realize now it should have been Luke's

superman became more so when the chips were down. How about you, Cam?  ..or is image everything?

    • Why don't we just say they can shove the late round draft picks up their ass? If they want a player they will be starting at WR in Week 1, I want a MLB in return that we can start Week 1. Starter for a Starter Not Starter for a draft pick we'll be debating whether or not they should make the final 53 man roster in 2026.
    • Why?   No. This isn't a situation of a player we want to trade because we have no use for them.  He's our starting slot WR, our leader of the young WR room, Bryce's safety option the last 2 years who he has good chemistry with. If the Vikings didn't run into WR trouble, we'd never have been even considering trading him, so why in the world should we give him up for fair market value in a vacuum for Thielen and disregard what losing him off our roster will do for us this year? A 5th round pick in 2026 is a negligible draft pick, especially with this season being so make or break for Bryce and Canales.
    • The Vikings acquiring all these late round picks has me feeling like we're about to see another CMC situation play out here. Trade a player we really like for the equivalent of what we want for them on the draft pick chart, but because of a bunch of late round picks instead of the one pick value we actually want. Which will do the same thing in the end, nothing, because 6th and 7th round picks rarely work out to begin with, or we're just going to use them to move up 10 picks in the 3rd or 4th round to take another DJ Johnson
