Unsung Heroes

Let's face it, some of our most important players last night were guys few people outside of the core fan base even know are on this team. Most of these are gems that Discount Store Dave has found for us, some have been in and out of the lineup this year, but each of them is the epitome of the heart and soul of this team.

Let's hear it for Kyle Love and Wes Horton having a big night. How about Super Mario Addison making the case again and again that he should be a starting DE?

How about Tyler Larsen coming in and playing center well? Ed Dickson had a good showing, too. Philly Brown was making some plays.

And even though he is a starter, a guy who never seems to get the accolades, Ted Ginn didn't just embarrass that safety on the touchdown pass, if you watched closely, you could see that was Josh Norman whom he had been and jetted past to make that big play.

And that new punter guy, Michael Palardy, he's pretty good at dropping those kicks around the 8 yard line. Not too shabby for a guy who wasn't even in football six weeks ago.

This isn't to take one bit away from our star players, who also turned out in force, but for those who think we don't have depth and quality players at all levels, you might want to look at the team as a whole. The Panthers are going to be just fine from here on out.

Don't mean to rain on your parade. But Ted Ginn had so many drops it was embarrassing.

But I agree on the others.

That's expected. I still think he played great and we probably would have lost without him out there. Ginn has been really good this year even with the drops. He and Cam have some chemistry.

Ted Ginn's drop don't even bother me.  I have been conditioned at this point to know he will only catch half his easy balls

Ginn is horrible yet our best WR at the same time.  Kinda need him

He had 2 I know of last night

Dont get me wrong I like him cause he does get open. (Compared to funch and KB who wear DBs like coats)

but his drops come at the worst times

And often times his catches come at spectacular moments.

replace the word horrible with mediocre, and I agree 100%. I doubt that he draws a whole lot of FA intrest, so I hope he's back next year.(unless we find someone better)

Speaking of unsung heros... I'm not sure we've been giving Kurt Coleman enough credit.  He's had a couple of big games lately and his takeaways have been a big part of our improvement since the Bye.... He struggled early in the season with all the changes in the backfield, but seems now to be in a good rhythm and once again balling out.

Unsung heroes:

Ron Rivera - has received much crap, but lets face it, he has a winning record as a coach and he has faced a lot of adversity what with a marquee player being accused of assault, the unfair officiating of his qb, his effing house burning down!, and this year a ton of injuries. It's a tough job, but he got his team prepared and held on of the top offenses in the league to 15.

Philly Brown - I think people underrate his fire and toughness as evidenced in the superbowl. he's a fiesty little dude and always seems to contribute. He has two more catches on the year than Funchess.

Also, nick goings and al wallace. I know they haven't played for a while, but they deserve a mention on any "unsung hero" list.
