i love Smitty...if some of our players (Benjamin, Funchess, Ealy, Godfrey) had half this guy's heart & passion we may not be looking at 6-10 this year

i agree with an earlier poster, seeing #89 in purple makes me want to throw up...I am still pissed about cutting him

just read an Observer article that said DG may not sign him to a 1-day deal to retire as a Panther because HE is still mad about some stuff Smitty said about him...if this is true, JR better get in front of that or the fan base may really turn on him

Thats a speculative article by Joe Person with no sourcing, so it's basically worthless.

For a whole host of reasons, Steve Smith is my favorite NFL player. Ever.

That said I could not care less how, when, or where he retires.  If it works out that he comes "home" for another year or just a day that will be cool, but if not it no big deal really.

In the end Steve wont be remembered as a Raven or a Panther, but simply as one of the greatest receivers to have played the game and one who achieved at that level despite the offensive circumstances he played under.

He should say whether or not he is retiring. Not this 89% bullshit. Commit to it or don't speak on it. Nobody likes a Brett Favre routine.

I think Steve is being a metaphorical genius with this quote. 89% being his play on his jersey digits (#89). Steve Smith is about as close to [emoji817] that anyone will get. Since he is essentially a football god, referencing himself in this instance is like saying he is 100% retiring.
