And we want still be able to score enoguh points to win the game, He had maybe 1 good play against Cam Robinson otherwise he was held in check

?  Even IF so, if he "only" does what he did against Cam Robinson every game, he would be the Panthers single season sack, forced fumble, and interception leader all time.

I am totally biased but we must have watched different games Barnett gave Robinson some real problems.  2 tackles for a loss, a sack, and int, and a forced fumble is a pretty filled stat line as well.  Held up pretty well in rush defense as well.  Sad that no one else on the defense could do anything.

Do you only look at box scores when rating a player or do you actually watch the games?

honest question

Ironic that you'd say that.  I watch games. Not 24/7, all-22, living in parents basement level obsession, but as much as possible for a working man with a life.  Ironic because I've warned against watching only the 3 minute YouTube video of Barnett or reading stat lines.  I have watched many of his entire games.  Most recently, after being eliminated from playoff contention, Panther fans had the chance to watch multiple classy and impressive press conferences and an entire game against a traditional power in Nebraska, which of course I did.  He was everywhere, even having the Nebraska QB say he couldn't believe he only had one sack.  He had yet another sack/forced fumble that was foolishly and incorrectly ruled an incompletion on the field and stood as called-Exhibit A of why, I agree, one must look at the entire picture.

Said this in another thread... DB9 is a hell of a player and a hell of a guy to boot. He is incredibly fast off the line with an explosive first step, a has non-stopping motor, and has the strength to toss TE's aside. He is also a high-character guy who puts the team first. He was double-teamed the whole year and still managed 13 sacks. Whichever idiot compared him to Everette Brown or Mario Addison obviously hasn't watched UT football.

Never mind Tennessee, no SEC player had ever had 3 straight double digit sack seasons.  Ever.

Many also don't realize that many sacks came in money situations.  I.e. In overtime against South Carolina in 2014, against Florida in the 2nd half to aid a huge comeback, against Georgia late in the 4th quarter for a fumble/TD which flipped the game, against Alabama in 2015 when it was a game and in 2016 when they were trying to make it a game, etc.

Or we could have LT that doesn't allow all those things you mentioned happen to our offense :)

I just got done watching the Nebraska game in its entirety. If Barnett was that disruptive every game then I don't even think we would be talking about taking him 8 because he would be LONG GONE.
