Seriously depressed Shula is gonna be our OC nxt yr

depressed? I hope that's an exaggeration. After having the #1 offense, falling to #15 for one year doesn't get you fired. I can't believe people actually thought he would be fired. Now if things continue to go downward next year, then maybe. Hopefully things were learned from this season and changes will be made. All I care about is improving the offensive line.

2015 was not a norm. Shula is crappy to average at best. Cam makes him look better than he is at times.

Our offense has very few short routes and check downs. Terrible gameplan.

Basically send everyone deep and have Cam hold on the ball for 4+ seconds.

Still hasnt improved Cams footwork.

Jesus, shoot me now.

We had #1 scoring offense but #11 offense overall (+22 turnover ratio played a big role).  Shula is mid table OC.  You need very good D to win championship with him.

I love Panthers football.

Ive blown off family events for regular season games.

Id never get depressed over a choice a pro sports franchise made...

Get Help.

Seriously.

Seek counseling.

This...

But the Superbowl was a bit depressing.

So much hope...

Way more than 2003

I assume there was a bit of hyperbole in the post.

Seriously though, another year of Shula? Fug.

Part of me wants to believe Ron and his talk about how we need to evolve as an offense. The other part of me remembers that presser of him and Gettleman sitting up there talking about how drafting Shaq would give us so many possibilities on D and how we could stay in our base D more often and not tip our hand. Then, the season comes around and Shaq is a situational LB. Then, his second season comes around and... Shaq is a situational LB.

The reality is that our offense isn't likely to change very much if at all. Sigh...

Can't believe this poo. Thought for sure have such a shitty year would get him the axe.

Can not envision us winning a championship with him calling plays.

Someone hold me.

We have won the NFCS 3 of the 4 seasons under Shula....won multiple playoff games, had a historic 15-1 season and gone to a Super Bowl.

Shula might handicap the O to a degree but isn't as big of one as often implied around here.  There are much worse coordinators all over the NFL

People love to tout that 3 NFCS division championships in a row thing while conveniently ignoring the fact that the division was utter trash in two of those three years. It was less about what we did and more about how flat out awful the division as a whole was.

We had that success due to D and Cam.

You are missing the point.

Not a chance in hell we win the NFL championship with Shula calling plays.

If winning the division and getting knocked out in the playoffs is good for you then Shula will do.

    • We agree here dawg. I'd love for Bryce to succeed as would all huddlers. I have not seen a single huddler hate Bryce for anything other than his play on the field / potential / skillset. He hasn't gotten any of the irrational hate having nothing to do with football that Cam got. And yeah I understood going into this season with Bryce again as there weren't a ton of options, but man we missed the fuging mark on upgrading at backup QB with someone who could actually push Bryce. Bryce had zero pressure on him with a 100% washed up Dalton being the only other NFL caliber QB in the system. That absolutely needs to change this offseason. Ideally with an actual starter upgrade but that seems extremely unlikely due to not having many FA options and a bad draft. But at the very least with someone like you mentioned, young/upside and/or day 3 pick in the draft.   Another note, we have a top paid and top performing OL, great young talent at WR incl. likely OROY, great RB group, average all around TE group, offensive coach with creativity in the system and good play designs (poor situational playcalling but still I put out current offensive coaching staff over Shula who held Cam back for instance). Not the absolute best situation for a QB to be in, but still a very good situation around him. And yet we have a bottom 8 offense (6th lowest points scored). Imagine taking a victory lap for a QB leading his team to the 6th lowest points scored in the league and the 22nd highest passer rating (despite being asked to do less than many other QBs; i.e. Bo Nix who isn't great either and has a slightly lower passer rating but Sean Payton actually lets him try to throw the ball deep and has him throw significantly more than Bryce). Crazy
    • similar to Atlanta and the NHL.  Atlanta has lost two NHL teams (and lost a minor leaguer).  Now there's another coalition pulling together another proposal for Atlanta to get an NHL expansion. While I'd like hockey to be back in Atlanta 'cause hockey is fun, I am skeptical that it'll happen based on previous teams' experience here alternatively: similar to Atlanta hosting a Major Tennis Tournament in advance of the US Open every mid/late summer.  Aside from the fact that Atlanta is said to be the country's largest Tennis playing city (with both USTA and ALTA, along with a number of side leagues) - playing tennis outdoors in Atlanta summer is miserable *and* they had difficulty attracting players... ticket sales were not good. So the Atlanta Open closed after 14 years.  They just couldn't make it happen, even if for all intents it appears to be massive tennis interest in the surrounding area.
    • So I saw where Luke was doing that show parallel to the game. Whatever it was, statcast something something, knew it would be a good watch. I don’t get ESPN any more but that would be one of the about few things I would watch outside of games.     He doesn’t fool around on the radio broadcast.
