Looks like they may have 31 million cap room in 2017.

Looks like they got a lot of free agents too.

Some of that includes key offensive linemen and JPP of course. Key depth players as well.

Plus, their offense is stagnant as of late. If any team scores 20+ on their defense they aren't gonna have the o-line/firepower to come back. They also have a limited run game.

How didn't the Giants shop smart?

The grabbed a 26 year old pass rusher who doesn't turn 27 until October. They grabbed a massive DT who is still only 28 and added one of the better corners in the league in Janoris Jenkins.

They drafted guys like Eli Apple and Landon Collins to add to their D. They spent and drafted intelligently and finished with a 11-5 record.

Looks like a team that'll have no problem getting back to the playoffs next season. But hey we have 60 million in cap space or whatever the hell it is! Woohoo!

The Giants were also missing JPP tonight which was huge

You think I'd want another season like this? Ridiculous.

I have no problem with being active in free agency if it's done smartly. But on a regular basis there's some team that goes after lots of big names and gets proclaimed a dream team, and they wind up falling flat.

Yet people still want us to be that team.

Criticizing the Giants doesn't change the fact that our front office rested on their laurels (heyoooooo) in the offseason while the rest of the division, and the NFL improved.

People like @Mr. Scot will gladly eat their own vomit if it means maintaining the status quo.

You can be active in FA, and still be successful long term.

Lol - Thats a bit extreme. I don't want to speak for him but I'm pretty sure he just doesn't believe throwing money at high dollar free agents gets a team to sustained success.

Intelligent signings are necessary. Particularly basic depth.

Certainly I'm not arguing throwing record money at one player. But when paired with the draft, FA can be very useful.

The Panthers had a Super Bowl roster, and pissed it away. I simply don't agree with this mindset of bashing other teams for trying to improve if we didn't ourselves.

Exactly.

We had a pretty good portion of the cap tied up in Norman up until the tag was rescinded.  We were pretty far into free agency when that happened.

I'm hoping for better next year, but I still don't want to see us throwing all our eggs into a single season basket.

Odell Beckham Jr. was banging his head against locker room door, per Sal Paolantonio. He also reportedly punched this hole in wall.

Lol at people trying to bash how the Giants chose to use FA, there issues were on offense alone, top 5 receiving core and 2 time Super Bowl qb and looked worst then our offense did vs the bucs in the season finale, vs a fb defense that is below average.they use FA and the draft to build around there two bright spots on defense(Collins and jpp) and there superstar in Odell. Just because they got carved up by Rodgers, the second best qb in the NFL, doesn't mean what they did in FA is moot
