@Peppers90 NC, kiss the ring boy.

We don't have  any rings :(

The only thing that could keep me up if ATL does win the title(this year is laughable compared to last year)(and we woulda won easily if we had our team from 16) is that Clemson won...

Even our team this year if fully healthy could have went 10-6 easily if Gano alone didn't poo his pants every game. That doesn't even include the rest of the issues. With a soft schedule and a top 10 pick we are going to be sick next year.

Eh, the Panthers romped through the NFC (including a NFCCG blowout) in the regular season and playoffs and still got beat down in the SB. Pretty hard to make that case.

Falcons are damn good, no denying it. Rodgers has his work cut out for him, but I think he'll push the Falcons to the brink if it comes down to it. He's got that dog in him.

But the NFC as a whole is kind of a shitshow this year.

I expected the Seahawks to put up a better fight than that.

Then the #1 seed going one and done at home. Pretty mediocre.

@Borat, come getcha some.

Yea much harder last year and AZ was actually good and worthy and we destroyed them and Seattle still was in their prime....looks like the Seahawks window is shut/shutting and for those that don't believe in windows...(talking to you Gettleman) take a look at Exhibit 1000 as we have lots of insight into teams windows.

Can't honestly believe Gman keeps with that nonsense....it's clearly talking about the prime of your best players and how long you can keep them before their cost out weighs their production.

You'd think a long time NFL person would be able to know this.

Eventually you have to pay those 5th rounders when they become stars....the double edged sword of hitting home-runs late...gotta pay up so you need to win it all either before then or shortly after....that'd be the window we're talking about Dave....Cam won't be under 30 forever and the hits he keeps taking...give ya  hint....helps close his window just a little bit each time....and Luke(god I hate this) could be  1 more major concussion away from being done.

Don't even need to say what this team would look like without those 2.

And we still have Shula lol

I agree, I know that feel bro.

Which is why I want to punch these Gettleman dick lickers in the nuts. Acting as if a lost season is no big deal as our core players get another year older because Dave provides some funny sound bites, it's a big damn deal, and I'll never forgive Dave/Ron for getting so complacent after being so close last year.

It is really, really discouraging watching the amazingly sophisticated schemes and play-calling by teams with coaches who don't live in daily fear of the NFL's liberal passing rules.

But, according to Ron, in order for us to evolve on offense we need to... run the ball more.

It's Cam throwing the ball,  you can't blame Shula for EVERYTHING. Cam has to set his feet for once in his career. Bottom line. His accuracy is piss poor and hit or miss. Plain and aimple

Yeah you can't blame it all on the oline and play-calling, Cam has to take a lot of the blame for that titanic load of inaccurately thrown passes this season. And his decision making took a horrible drop to rookie like levels at times this season. He probably needs to spend less time on his brand and tv shows like last offseason and more time getting his passing skills in check ..

Atlanta is winning because they are effective at running the ball with Coleman and Freeman

Dallas is the one see because of their run game

New England looks invincible because of the duo of Blount and Dion Lewis

Laveon Bell has single handidly changed the steelers season

Ron is right. We need to run the ball better to lengthen drives and take some pressure off Cam.

I agree, and I think that Stew still has a lot of good running ahead of him. What we need are better holes for the RB to get through and more designed run plays that don't involve the run option. For the love of Pete, give the man a head of steam before he hits the first guy!

Newton had by far the worst completion percentage of qualifying QBs -- the second worst was nearly 4 p.p. better. You can't blame that sort of statistical deviance on an OC.

And perhaps Shula avoids calling for short, accurate passes for the same reason Kyle Shanahan doesn't call QB keepers for Matt Ryan.

There was a statistic posted earlier showing that the Panthers receivers had the least amount of separation in the league. A lot of that is due to the scheme we run on offense however the receivers are not completely blameless. Gettlemen wanted to go big however the bigs can't get open and create those wide open spaces you see other QB's have to throw into.

Aaron Rodgers doesn't count as he is simply a freak of nature when throwing the football.

    • with arm strength people often get stuck on the distance  arm strength in the NFL is moreso measured in speed / velocity .which of course is how long does it take for  the ball to travel from the time of release until it reaches its target ? & u beat world class speed with more speed on the ball...just saying
    • No GM hits 100%. I'm well aware. But what a GM has to do is look at the roster, what's available, and future contracts and go from there. XL was a one season wonder in college. He has speed. Who cares. He body catches and his hands are bricks. Speed doesn't matter when you don't actually have the ball. There were other receivers available with better resumes. XL was a project. Fitts loved projects. You don't have the luxury of projects when you just traded away DJ for a QB. 1st round WRs need to contribute now.  Brooks was a luxury RB pick we didn't have the luxury to make. Who cares if Dallas was going to pick him. We had holes all over our defense. Chuba was coming off a fresh contract. We just inked 150m interior line and then centered it by moving a guard to center that had suffered 2 season ending injuries. The most critical area on our line was being held together by a bandaid and a prayer. No surprise when it didn't work.   Wallace is getting better but Wilson was sitting there waiting to be taken. DPOY for college football right there for the taking. That was a gimme pick. If you're going to take a risk on an injured player, the 3rd round for Wilson made a whole lot more sense at a position we were rest stop TP thin at.  4th round and on aren't going to be heavy contributors unless you're lucky.  He did well on the trade for Jackson. Coker, I believe he offered the largest guarantee. He actually got more than some late round picks make.  Those 1st 3 picks, IMO, were straight up whiffs.  Looking back at Fitterer's picks, I think he tried to plug holes because we had a ton of them. Problem was, he wasn't very good at it and he loved RAS scores and developmental players with a coach that couldn't develop a Polaroid. He tried to do too much. He was impatient. His other problem was he panicked during the draft and couldn't read or understand the flow of how drafts tend to go. DJ Johnson was the prime example. We needed an edge rusher and he jumped in at the end of the run instead of starting it.  Morgan's first year looked exactly like Fitts to me. Lots of projects.  2nd year looks better.  We'll see how 3rd year goes. FA also plays into all of this as well but that's a whole different topic of how it played out and planning with regard to drafting.
    • I judge how good our players are by the way a defense covers them. XL draws no special coverage. Coker on the other hand always has a man over the top. It still doesn’t matter. You be the judge.
