Mocks that occur from here forward, imo, begin to move away from what actually happened in the college season. DG has said that the combine must be taken in perspective. "Football is not played in your underwear"

That is to say, I think we are as close to what will actually occur as what we will see moving forward.

We need a fast slot receiver, a RB, a SS, a TE and DE out of the draft.  If we get a developmental OT or double up on OT or DE, I'd be fine.  But no one knows what we are going to do.  Last year we could have gotten TE Hunter Henry (who had a good year), Sterling Shepard (who had a good year) and then probably Bradbury.  What we did last year in FA and the draft literally set us back an entire year of adding depth and rebuilding.

Yeah I still don't like the drafting of 3 CBs and a DT in the 1st that threw covering our needs out the window pretty badly , besides at CB. The results of this draft are still very up in the air, I don't think getting Bradberry justifies the rest of the draft .

I think the Panthers could really use drafting some offense players in high rounds just to balance things out. We ALWAYS go primarily defense for drafts and especially in the high rounds, with some years there is a one round exception (ex. KB and then Funchess) . If there are any high round defense picks it should only be Jamal Adams or a top 3 Defensive End.

RB, TE, and a good speedy WR should be priorities. Saftey and DE can be addressed later in the draft and also in FA.

No way Mike Williams isn't the first receiver taken

Pie for giving us something other than the falcons to talk about.

disclaimer: I don't really watch college fb anymore unless Oklahoma is playing.

I saw a BR( I think) mock that had us taking Demarcus Walker DE FSU in the second. Watched some tape and would be very excited if that happened.

I think we might see more value if we take one of the safeties first (if available) and grab an RB in the 3rd; but if they aren't there in the first, I don't think you can be upset with Fournette.

I think we would look very good with a draft that played out like this:

1. Hooker or Adams - S

2. Soloman Thomas or Demarcus Walker - DE

3. Perine - RB

3. Kpassagnon - DE (edit: forgot we had this pick. I was trying to figure out how to have him     on this list.. convenient.)

4. OT/DT - BPA

5. Kai Nacua - S

6. DT/WR - BPA

7. Stevenson or Flowers or Iese - FB

Round 1 Pick 8: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
Round 2 Pick 8: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Southern California
Round 3 Pick 8: Antonio Garcia, OT, Troy
Round 3 Pick 35: Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova
Round 4 Pick 8: Jordan Willis, DE, Kansas State
Round 5 Pick 8: Jeremy Sprinkle, TE, Arkansas
Round 6 Pick 8: Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA
Round 7 Pick 14: Austin Rehkow, P, Idaho

Notes: When you get the opportunity to get a once a decade type runner in Fournette you pull the trigger.  Gettleman gets another playermaker for Cam in the 2nd with all of the "top" quality Tackles gone.  But he gets his guy in the top of the 3rd with Antonio Garcia (whom hes been seen with the Panthers at the Senior Bowl).  He double dips at DE with the two (bold prediction) Combine freaks at DE in Kpassagnon and Willis.  He meets with Jeremy Sprinkle to clarify his bone-headed Belk Bowl suspension and gets that straighten-out.  He gets some insurance at the DT position and then drafts the best punter to replace our aged specialist corp.

Now you thinking where is Corner and where is safety picks?  Gettleman signs Eric Berry in the offseason... hey one can only hope right.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
