Say draft day rolls around and Fournette is off the board at #8 but we luck out and Jamal Adams is still there, and he is our pick. The Huddle (some of them) rejoices and we look forward to round two.

Say pick #40 gets here and the Panthers play a wildcard.

A guy I have been looking at pretty hard for a while is Teez Tabor. He's way up on my board for the Panthers. He's had some very minor questionable things in the past at Florida, but he's arguably the best zone corner in the draft.

A lot of mocks, especially lately, have kind of written him off for a bit of a slide into the early to mid second round.

I really think Tabor could complement Bradberry well, and allow Worley to share the nickel role with Johnson or someone like Munnerlyn if we bring him back.

Not only will we have two really good rookie DBs, but I think we'll have solidified our defensive backfield for years.

Yes, it will be at the expense of passing up a better young OT or DE prospect, but if Tabor slides that far, I really want us to take him.

So say it played out like that... Would you be pissed?

There is talent at TE and RB to do this and still hit the offensive side of the ball. DE too... Adams and Tabor would be a helluva value.

Not very familiar with that player, but I wouldn't hate a CB at #40 depending on how the board falls.

Wouldn't be totally against this.. The though of that much speed and physicality on the back end of our defense is enticing to say the least.

Not to mention this draft is very deep with offensive talent, even in the later rounds. Ultimately I believe we need to draft back to back playmakers on O in rd 1 & 2, but we know how Gettleman can throw curve balls haha.

Cant imagine him dropping that low but  wouldn't hate it. If theres a thing as too much young swag in a secondary getting adams and tabor would be it. Then have Bradberry as the quiet lockdown assassin......Hmmmm im starting to get intrigued.

I feel this really goes against Gettleman's philosophy of team building. 

 

Gettleman has de-emphasized the importance of the secondary since arriving in Carolina.  Even last year when the team was completely devoid of secondary talent,  he still took a DT in the first round.

If we get Munnerlyn back we don't need to draft a corner this year. We could even resign Johnson. We went CB for 3 rounds last year. We need to spread the love around.

Wouldn't be mad with Adams pick but ignoring Cam and the offense after pick 8 would be a messed up move. It would be typical though. Really believe 3 and outs are the worst enemy of a defense.
