We get Kalil, the Vikes get Remmers.

Mike Remmers will be suing up in purple and gold in 2017.

According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the former Carolina Panthers offensive tackle will sign a deal with the Minnesota Vikings. The expectation is that the deal will be completed today.

Remmers, who operates at right tackle, would help shore up a serious position of need for the Vikings. The move comes on the heals of Minnesota's signing of former Detroit Lions lineman Riley Reiff, who will likely move back to left tackle after spending the 2016 season on the right.

Remmers becomes the second lineman to bounce between the two teams, with former Vikings left tackle Matt Kalil agreeing to terms with the Carolina Panthers, the team for which his brother Ryan Kalil plays.

Not sure if a number is already out or not but I bet they're paying him more than we signed Oher for. Not quite as much as Khalil but a big deal. If it's low then decent signing for them. Funny though, neither fan base wanted to keep their respective OT. Wish the Remjob luck in cold ass MN.

If the Vikings start him, we get the better deal. If they have him for depth. They get the better deal.

People harp on Remmers but for an Undrafted rookie we got really good production out of him. Our problem was thinking that his production warranted him starting all the time. He was a quality back up, nothing more.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
