Are you comfortable with the roster?

I think we could count on one hand the number of people here that thought the 2015 Panthers team was going deep in the playoffs when Kelvin got hurt. I damn sure can't say the same for 2016, can you? I don't think anyone expected us to win only 6 games.

Yeah 2015 happened, and 2016 also happened when we arrogantly stood by thinking we could sustain what we had without making any meaningful additions while other franchises improved and built on what they already had.

I'm not all that worried about Kelvin or Devin.

I get it. You're hopeful for this WR core, I am too my friend. But we must learn from our past mistakes. And simple expecting 4th string receivers we picked up from the bottom of other teams rosters to play out of their minds and uplift our offense into a juggernaut again is misguided.

I'll get back to you. I'm bout to get fired. Clockwork sucks especially in a warehouse

* - 7 games that were in question. There were no games in those 7 that we won by sheer luck. Every single one of them, the Panthers earned the win, usually through a disciplined and gutsy last minute drive.

i hear your concerns about the close games, and i think our "luck" caught up with us in 2016. but my point is that alot of that could have been counteracted with disciplined play from team leaders/coaches, and overall heart and determination. 2016 could have been alot different IMO.

We almost lost to the Jags if not for a miracle interception by Norman to seal it.

We almost lost to NO's backup at home if not for another pick by Norman to seal it.

I recall another interception to seal it against a driving Packers team at home too. Think that was Davis.

I think our success is heavily dependent on vibe, chemistry, rythm and yada yada..

I think we were fuged mentally no matter who else we brought in last season, like most other Superbowl losers. Us especially because of thevphenominal season and dominant postseason and were just dumb fuc(k)ed

I'm not getting the all warm and fuzzy feeling about our o-line yet. We have no idea how Kalil is going to play out at LT and Oher is still meh even if he is out of protocol.

Cam bothers me right now too. Last year he got tore up and said he wasn't having fun anymore. He really looked like he took a big step back in mechanics and reading progressions. If our o-line performs, I expect him to return to '15 form, I just hope he hasn't lost a step in his mental game. Would love to see him improve on his short throws. It would give some space for him because D's would actually have to worry about the RB instead of knowing he's just going to block. DA needs replaced

Our WRs give me the blah feeling. We lack a true 1, KB needs to get over the lazy don't give a crap BS, and I don't think we've really had a chance to see what Fun can do. He had promise as a rookie, but last year was hard to judge because of the poo show we had between Cam and the o-line.

RB - Stewie needs to stay healthy through 16 games and that means getting an effective second back. Would love to see our backs in the passing game too.

D I'd like to see a fresh new DE with some talent that has an effective pass rush. I'm not sure how much Pep has in the tank, or if he will resort back to the same effort he had his first time here.

From the draft, I want Adams because he can be solid for years, and has a longer career expectancy than a RB. If not him, I wouldn't cry to see Lattimore. I want an edge rusher, a tackle for fugs sake, a RB, an o-line guy that can play multiple spots for depth, and a WR that can outrun a Cam deep pass.

I am more comfortable than last season at this time. I wouldn't say content but I'm definitely optimistic.

...and honestly it's not the talent that I am cautious about. I am far more concerned with the coaching staff and their ability to effectively manage the game and develop a game plan (offense specifically) that gives our guys a chance to succeed. If we run out there with this roster and continue to put Cam in shotgun game-after-game and have him sit in the pocket forever and force feed balls to big, slow receivers on long developing routes then it's going to be more of the same. Regardless of who we draft.

Personnel wise, overall we are in good shape. As others have said, if we can find a starter and solid depth with our draft picks we have the talent to compete and win against anyone.

The tale of Tiquan Underwood, and Ed Dickson (signing thread for both was chocked full of people thinking they were going to smash onto the scene with us) should be a prime example of why one should take caution when predicting success for receivers the Panthers have signed with not much to go on statistically in the way of consistency.

This organization has had numerous opportunities to sign a true #2 WR. It's truly mind blowing how this need gets ignored every year.

I'm hoping the next GM makes it a priority. Banking on Funchess is like banking on Ealy, just no.

At this point all I can hope for is that they draft Ross, but even so I would've still preferred someone with some experience.

Can't lie I like the moves made this offseason, my biggest issue has been the consistency of doing so, can't have a offseason like this one and next decide to horde cap space for God knows what reason.

The draft is wide open for us, but mainly I would like a wr and OT picked in the first 3 rounds, can't sit pat with what we have now

You mean without all that supposed luck, we might have been 13-3? Oh the humanity!

Of all my posts in here this is the one you choose to shitpost in response to? Weak.

I had to go back and edit that post. There were 3 instances I could think of off the top of the dome. We had quite the opportunistic defense in 2015.

Like it or not luck does play a key role at times.
