Panthers performance bonuses are out

The Carolina Panthers’ starting guards and two rookie cornerbacks were among the team’s biggest winners as far as collecting extra cash based on their playing time last season.

Left guard Andrew Norwell received $291,975 in performance-based pay – more than any other Panthers player – according to a league source.

Right guard Trai Turner pocketed $232,245, and starting corners Daryl Worley ($249,713) and James Bradberry ($191,765) also were among the Panthers’ top five earners in performance pay.

Free safety Tre Boston ($214,373) also cracked the top five.

 

Norwell, 25, who was undrafted out of Ohio State in 2014, is guaranteed to make $2.75 million this year after the Panthers placed a second-round tender on the restricted free agent.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who had a base of $13.2 million and a cap figure of $20.2 million last season, received only $7,889 in performance pay.

My dad got a $125 gift card from Amazon today for being a member for 14 years anniversary.

Love Cam and he didn't have much help last season but if we're calling it a performance bonus, I think he should give that to someone more worthy.

I wonder if Cam looks at his bonus check the same way I look at my refund check for $3 I got from Geico because I overpaid on my car insurance, ie, yeah I might deposit it if I remember to one of these days.

As much as we like to rag on Tre, deservedly so, he really started playing better late in the year. He was doing well blitzing and attacking the run early. Yes he still needs work, but he wasn't completely horrible all year.

While yes, I can agree with that; On the other hand, the fact that you have to say "He's not that bad", kind of proves my point. Bottom line is that I hope we improve at the position.

Oh I agree 100% that we need to upgrade and I am hoping we use one of the 4 top picks that we have to do so. I was just stating that he has improved a little which is not enough
